So I was watching the Chivas USA - D.C. United game on ESPN2 just now, and their first story at halftime was about Beckham:

"David Beckham reportedly wants out of his Galaxy contract - not full-time - but wants to spend four months prepping for the 2008 Euro Championships with team England. He would leave sometime in January-February and is willing to sacrifice some of his $250 million contract... gone 'til about June."

Uh... wtf? Is this just more irresponsible anti-soccer reporting from ESPN? Or is this story true? I haven't heard a damn thing about it.

Wouldn't it be great if the damage wasn't as bad as previously thought and he comes back sooner than we all expected. I know, hopeless optimist. I'm hoping for a miracle comeback like that guy from the Knicks the last time they won the NBA championship. Damn i forgot his name though.

That actually makes sense... He's not going to be doing anything with the Galaxy might as well... I think he just want's to get away from the Galaxy's business drama that's going... I think it's a good idea... David is just tired being in a loosing team. :(

Whatever if he leaves i hope he stays there.....Landon's the rightful captain of this team anyway and I hope it stays that way.

I agree. And while we are at it, I hope they get rid of that little snot Cobi, who is obviously lazy and has never done squat for the team. Lets get the real players on the field that hustle their asses off, like Buddle, and Vegenas, and Martino. Yallop needs to go too - not because he's not a good coach -- obviously he's a master tactician that demands perfection from his players-- but because he is such a jerk to the players. I'm amazed if the man has a friend left in the world. Sheesh....

In the long run, I'm confident this team will turn around for the better. I know Lalas has his haters, but he has shown a keen eye for picking up talent that make a difference on the field, so a few more trades and we should be a contender from the Cup. Remember, it's not Lalas' fault that that lazy and greedy little snot Beckham brought an excellent team down to mediocrity! Go Lalas!

I cannot see this happening. LA Galaxy won't let it happen i'd imagine.

But I do think that if Beckham has his sights set on going to Euro 2008 then I think he'll be thinking he needs to be playing competitive football up until then. Becks knows that he cannot expect to be picked for the Euro 2008 squad (assuming England make it of course) if he is not playing football in the months leading upto the tournament.

But like I say, can't see it happening to be honest.

Buddle, Vegenas and Martino I wonder if they will be with us next year.
Buddle is a lazy ass player.
Yallop will be here another year(2008) for sure.

I quoted a post that ridiculously suggested that Becks should leave and that Landon was the man, so I responded with more absurd conclusions, like Cobi is lazy and Yallop is a jerk. Either my parody has to improve or you have to turn your sarcasm meter up. :D
