Having now been to two DC United games, I had two totally different experiences. So which one is more normal? 1) First game I attended, ticket booths were open on both sides, but for this game, only one side was open. 2) I was able to get beer in the second half in the first game, but 10 minutes into the second half I could not find a vendor. Went outside to the stand, and they informed me that they stopped selling beer. I asked why, and received the I am just doing what I was told routine (in fairness, I would probably do the same). But what is the normal case, because it seems to me that they are losing money. 3) Why can you not purchase tickets directly from DC United? I am a season ticket holder for the Caps and like the way they operate. Thanks for the answers. tcc
1) Not sure about the ticket booths 2) Beer sales were cut off early because of the possible El Salvadoran issue see this thread for more background: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=3363 3) If you call 703-478-6600 you can purchase tickets from them or they can answer your other ticketing questions
Without putting too much thought into, I assumed that they stopped selling at halftime because it was 3/4 of the way through a double-header event. I assumed they figured that people probably had been hanging out drinking longer because of the double-header, so they should cut off beer sales a little earlier than usual.
