...who thinks that, had the Democrats acted honorably, bit their lips and remembered the age-old political axiom that "Politics ends at the water's edge" and not let themselves get all wound up with Bush hate about Iraq that they would have won the election?

I read all this jazz about what they did wwrong and what Bush did right, and most of it makes sense I guess, but the bottom line is that America doesn't really appreciate people who act like traitors.

    Am I alone here?

To put things as simply as possible, I think that enough people didn't vote FOR Kerry for him to win. And that is what the Dems need to worry about.

    That's very true, AIUI.

Reporters kept commenting on this, but nobody ever really made a big deal about it: At Kerry campaign stops, the crowd would come. applaud the applause lines in the appropriate places, and then go home.

But they say that Bush appearances were like rock concerts - people cheering, singing, yelling and going crazy.

I know the lefties will have a fit, and it does sound trite, but nobody loved Kerry. He just wasn't Bush, and that made them happy. But people honestly LOVE George Bush, and were willing to show it.

Same with the big GOTV and registration thing. Everybody makes a big deal about Rove being a great organizer and I gues he is.

But the fact is that an awful lot of the Demo turnout and registration folks were being PAID (a lot of it with George Soros' money) to do it.

But the vast army of Republican GOTV people, the 72 hours people and all the rest were out there for free because they wanted to do what they could for the President.

NOTE: Be careful listening to pundits pontificating about "Why Bush won" and "Why Kerry lost". It's seldom one thing or another. It's usually a LOT of little things.

And other little things. Those GOTV volunteers were mostly sons and daughters of Reagan era Republicans--folks in their thirties their families underway along with their careers.

The only age demographic Bush did NOT carry was the 18-34 year olds. Now, who would you rather believe on this point. Thes folks will start to vote more Red once they get married and get a job, or Mikey Moore-On who thinks they will continue voting for Dems and calls it a start.

I think it is the former, but that's me :D
