I am told that a For Sale sign has appeared outside of a Revolution players' home recently.

Could management be giving some indication to players about who is likely to be exposed in the Expansion Draft?

How many Revos that are left unprotected will actually be of any interest to Cheeseass or unReAl SL?

Well, I hope we don't see Pepe doing his magic next year in the stripes of El Goat-os... And there are plenty of Revs who are decent rank-and-file players who can contribute well enough to a crap expansion team, so I don't think it's out of the question that we might lose someone. Then again, if someone were to go, it isn't as if we can't find replacements of our own for those guys.

Maybe somebody is getting a raise and they are getting a bigger house.

Good point. Glad to see someone can still stay positive.

Or a different house in a different town, or is taking advantage of current interest rates in anticipation of a potential raise in rates...without actually knowing which player it is, it's awfully difficult to infer potential motives.

Personally, I always wonder why a professional athlete would choose to own rather than rent.

Growing up, a professional football player moved next door to my house. Three months later and he was cut.

OK, he played in the USFL, but still...

Better investment, maybe? Historically low mortgage interest rates? Of course, this also gives us a few clues to solving the blind item: If it's someone who owns his house, then it's likely this is someone who a) has been on the squad for at least a couple of seasons and b) is at the upper end of the salary scale, knowing how property rates in this area run. Let the speculation begin.

I know in other forums CB would be flamed for starting a vicious rumor because there was no link or proof. Having seen CB's posts in the past, I feel confident that the knowledge he is sharing is as accurate as he is being told.

Regardless or what it may mean, do we actually have a name - or are you being asked to not spill the beans?

    First, thanks for the confidence.

I am not a journalist, so, erring on the side of caution, I did not reveal the name of the player. I am not sure where the line may lie on personal matters.

You did the right thing. I wouldn't give the name either.

If its the player I think it is, he and his family are moving to another town near Foxboro to get a bigger yard.

    No way he is unprotected.
