Ancelotti springs a couple of surprises with Kaka starting in place of Rui Costa and Costacurta in place of Laursen. Simic is not on the bench.

It seems as if Ajax have started the game with revenge on their minds.

Scoreless at halftime. Looks like Milan picked it up toward the end of the half, with two Ajax players booked in the late-going. Costacurta was injured and replaced by Laursen.

67th minute and Inzaghi has finally broken through to put Milan ahead 1-0, just a few minutes after Serginho replaced Seedorf. Description of the goal now - shot from Sheva saved, but Pippo there to slot in the rebound. Classic Inzaghi goal.

Milan endures some nervous moments at the end and hold on through 6 minutes of added time to win 1-0.

I didn't see the match but from what I hear Kaka was fantastic. And seeing as Rivaldo didn't play again I think he is gone. Koeman said he wants him so maybe they are not playing him so he won't be cup-tied if he transfers in January.

saw most of the match on tape delay...a draw might have been a more fitting result.

Kaka is going to be very special...watching Gattuso still makes me sick though. At one point in the first half he two-footed slides through an Ajax player and gets up waiving his finger at the ref with the ball in his hand...he did earn a foul and later a red.

Rivaldo's only leaving if he so chooses. I'm sure Ancelotti in some ways loves having the luxury of a guy like him around to fill in for injuries. I don't quite get what Rivaldo is doing though. I would think a guy his age would be pushing to play. Maybe he's just busy biting his tongue to collect his retirement money.

As for him going to Ajax, come on. Learn to read between the lines. Sure, Koeman would like him but he'd also like RVN, Veron, Beckham, Kahn, ZiZi, Salgado, Nesta, Totti, Viduka, and a non-petulant Anelka. But that doesn't mean that the club can swing the money side of things for those players. Nor does it mean that he's going to buy them.

Good footage that, do Milan do that for all their games?

Unfortunately no. They do it for all thier Serie A home games. But they rarely have highlights of thier away games(as evidence is the lack of highlights of the Perugia game). This was also the first time I've seen them put highlights of the CL on the website.
