Since Goff has now reported United will give trials to two more players, I guess its time to make a thread to keep track of trialists that come in to camp. So far here are the first few:

    Quiarol Arzu
    Jermaine Taylor
    Three-Boys Gumede :)D)
    Barry Rice
    Daniel Wasson
    Lyle Adams

    Am I missing any?

    1) I believe Mr. Gumede's first name is Two-Boys and,

    2) Andrew Quinn, who recently trialed at Glasgow Rangers, was added for GK depth, since Troy will be at the US Nats camp.

It's great they're bringing a lot of new trialists in, Ben will need the help shoveling this week.

    From Notre Dame's web-site:

"Born May 6, 1987 • son of Tony and Kyung Quinn • father is a photographer for Soccer America"

I did not know that until now. Thanks!

If they wanna get out of here, they better leave now!

I know two people with flights tomorrow that have had them cancelled already and are juggling to see if they can even make their conference out west this weekend.

I like Tony. Andrew is a nice enough kid. However, I like my GK to be more mobile. There are better GK options.

We don't need any more GKs. Quinn was brought in to pre-season camp as an extra body, since Perkins is in Nats Camp.

Ooooooh, tasty tidbits... an 18-year old forward is always an exciting prospect, and I L-O-V-E that we've got academy players in the pipeline that we're looking at as potentially graduate-able!

One or both of these could be the next young star-in-development that we missed out on in the draft...

BTW, a Google search on Arnolin Guity turns up nothing...

I keep reading good things about Najar, so I think it's only a matter of time before he gets signed to an academy deal. He keeps coming in to these preseason sessions for the experience (at least the last two seasons), but I think it's a continued evaluation of whether he's ready for the jump to the pros or not.

Also, with this many international players being brought in, I have to think that some of the oldguard may be on the outs, specifically Kocic, Khumalo, and Shipalane. Those three offer the least bang for the buck for production and could be replaced by domestic or develomental-type players.

Yeah, I did the same and got the same results. I wonder if his name has other spellings. Something should turn up, even if he were just a rookie somewhere in the Honduran league

I think it's very telling that the team has skewed towards younger players as trialists rather than older players. A year ago, we were looking at Roger; this year we're looking at Arzu and Taylor. The trend is definitely skewing younger, and it wouldn't surprise me if any additional signings, i.e. non-trialists, went this route. I have to think that at this point of the season we might have the youngest average player in all of MLS. That's very telling for a team that was definitely on the other side of that figure over the last few years.

Najar is a beast. At least he seems to be against guys his own age. I went down (or over) to the soccerplex in germantown on multiple occasions in the last 18 months to see the youth teams play. Najar is simply a bad boy. He has great ball skills, great passer, good enough speed, and just as importantly he KNOWS WHAT TO DO WITH THE BALL. He's not like most of these young guys who may be able to beat a guy or two and then lock up on what to do when they are in the clear. It's just a matter of time before he gets signed. We'll see if any of this translates to the next level. I certainly like him though.
