Hey, good to hear from you mate. All is great with us. We sold up on the island in WA and bought a little (maintenence free) home in Frorence. No not Italy. Small town Oregon coast. Read a lot, watch a lot of footie on telly, then we take long walks couple of times a day on one of the many beaches around here.
They cut me off at 480 So....... Got the small camper ready for spring trips south. So, how you? Love to hear how your footie life is going I have to live vicariously through others now I've hung my boots up.
I appreciate that. I certainly think we're on the same page - even if we don't always see eye-to-eye. And, I've also always enjoyed Adam's (Grinners's) views on the game. He certainly take it serious and digs into things beyond a superficial level. Just don't tell the fathead I said that. ;)
He went to the UEFA B Coaching License not too long ago - which probably left him little time for BS. After that, I assume he's just keeping his distance. I still see him on facebook every now and again. He's around.
The one thing that did stick out to me as an American in Wales was how proud the Welsh are of their language, history and heritage. At the uni, classes were available in Welsh and English and all the signs (as you'll remember of course) were in both Welsh and English. Very unique experience - being in the UK and seeing/hearing a foreign language everywhere, although one could argue Geordie isn't Engerlish!! We did go to a "Welsh only" pub to watch a soccer match in Upper Bangor - England vs Portugal. The Welsh in the pub went berserk when the Portuguese scored. I also watched a lot of rugby that spring.
Wow, that's great your family is from the Bangor area. I recognize many of those places. I absolutely loved traveling around that whole area - went through Llanberis, Caernarfon (can't forget that castle!), Beaumaris, and that incomprehensible town on the way to Holyhead. :) Plus we drove through the whole Llynn Peninsula - saw Harlech (I remember a beach called Hellsmouth, close to Abersoch, is a beautiful spot for a bbq!). Won't forget the view from the top of Mt. Snowdon. I saw quite a bit, made friends I still keep in touch with, visited Liverpool several times (among other UK areas) - those were possibly the best 6 months of my life. The semester I studied there, I was taking both psychology and business courses for my US degree. Very nearly went back for my MSc (but decided on Newcastle Uni instead). It was a really eclectic student community from all over the world; of the 8 people on my floor, 7 countries were represented. Man, I could talk all day with you about Wales!
Thanks for the rep! :) Were you in north, south, or mid Wales? I loved studying in Bangor, North Wales. Lots of Liverpool fans at my uni! That whole area around Snowdonia National Park is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. Will hopefully get back to Wales someday, it's a great part of the UK.
señor usscouse, I apologize. how's life, btw? YNWA shit season but I have faith KK will eventually turn it around. regards, MetroChile
Thanks ******** I was online, and caught him when I did. ;) Otherwise, we would've had another 20 pages on that thread. :)
Funny, I've olways known it as the "One-Oh-One". But with further investigation I see it's called AUDIENCE. It's definately not a football channel. Some good shows on there from concerts to Ausie TV mafia shows.
what is the name of the channels, my friend? I have Dish in my room. saw nothing with that name on either FSC or FS+. :(
you need to learn to reply on my wall. :P hahaha. and good stuff: have fun in Cabo. Cabo in Mexico you mean, right? cheers.
Hola my Chilean amigo. Thanks for asking. Good 3 points yesterday and always tough against the bitters. I been to a lot of those games at Goodison and Anfield always good for a bit of fun ...and the odd fight!! Not really sure of what the team is doing right now. At the end of last season I was really excited about the way we were playing but this season has started off really scrappy and with mixed results. Long way to go yet though....we'll see. Looking for air fares right now. We'll fly down to Cabo this November instead of driving...bummer. Adios Amigo, Ken
señor usscouse: long time, no talk. hope all is well. glad that our boys got an important victory today. YNWA, my friend. adiós!
Ask Huss. I think groups have been totally canned. We were the only group still going I think, so we were expendable. Shame, as a lot of effort went into that thread. :)
Metro my friend, Thanks for your concern and new year message. Happy New Year to you your family and friends. I'm sitting in a beach bar right now catching up on the Boton match in Cabo Pulmo. It's a diving fishing spot down the south east Baja coast Mexico. WiFi is a bit spotty around here as is the power. We drove down all 3,000 mile to the bottom and we've done another 1,000 since exploring. I'm sort of laying low for a while, I'm not liking the way the boards are going lately. Who knows, when I get get back we may have a new manager and a new position in the league...:) Thanks again, Ken
haven't seen you post in a while, my dear friend. hope all is well and wish you a very happy and healthy new year. :) cheers and YNWA.
haha, thanks: yea, fortunately all 33 miners are out and most are already at home with their families. re: the matches, when it was discovered that they were alive, the miners requested that a TV be sent down so they could watch Chile's friendlies I think a few weeks back. I am sure they saw last week's game vs. the UAE and Oman. cheers, mate and YNWA. :)
Yeh, I'm sure we've got spies waiting for me to post a link so they can pounce. As tricky dickie said. Even paranoids can have enemies..
Took out your link in the game thread. Try not to post that up to the boards. I'm hoping that if we don't pass it around so much, the site won't get taken down.
Wow, my first neg rep! Seriously though, it was meant as an honest rib. My apologies if it caused offence.
