So immersion is the way to go then eh? I was thinking of doing a one month immersion program in January over in Spain, maybe I'll proceed with this course of action then.

Seriously though, I can understand and read Spanish okay but I thought I might the bullet and really try to speak the language and I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about it.

Hola Maca - how are you? Things are good. Busy at work and home. I had to take a look at what people were saying about the Special One.... that news will keep the tabloids - and BS boards - busy for a bit.

Not bad at all. As of yesterday, my youngest is now a college graduate and I am tuition-free for the first time in six years. Hallelujah! Had absolutely too much champagne last night and more rich food than a person should consume in an entire year, but hey, it was a celebration.

In Spanish, when I am saying 'River Plate' (as in the Argentine football club), is Plate pronounced 'plat' with the long a sound or pla-tay with the short a sound?
