Just wanted to let you know that I wasn't attacking you or anything. I just saw several postings throughout the thread by non-Americans that commented on what the rest of the world sees as our symbol, and yours just happened to be the last one I read.

I completely understand your point, but just don't think it has any bearing on a decision about something that represents America. Not because your opinion isn't important or doesn't matter, but rather, because it isn't meant to represent you. I'm don't mean that to be insulting or as an attack in any way.

I mean, ask non-English (non-sports fans) what immediately comes to mind when you say England and you'll probably get Big Ben or Robin Hood. How dumb would it be if we were saying that one of those should be on your crest since that's the way we think of you ?

I hope that cleared things up. Again, I didn't mean it as an attack. I actually thank you for the fact that you have enough interest to contribute.
