Yea Columbia is in NYC, in a nice neighborhood in Manhatten, would be a dream come true if I could get in. My advisor said I need a minimum of 3.6 to even be looked at for the Graduate Program. My grades aren't that good so I'm going to have to work my ass off and get the best grades possible in my last semesters and do good on my thesis papers which I'll probably have to send in with the Grad School application as examples of my work. NYU would be my second option because I really don't want to go out of state for Grad School, its already expensive enough and I don't want to have to pay to dorm.

As for scholarships for private universities, they can range from partial to full coverage, depends on what school and what your grades are. Obviously the better your GPA the better your chances at a scholarship. Like me, you might have to consider loans to cover tuition since it is astronomical in this country and unaffordable unless you're rich.

You're lucky you have connections in your field of study though, that will help a lot after school.

I'm in my last undergraduate year at Hunter College, which is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) group of schools. Its a good school with a great tradition and the location is perfect, right next to Central Park, not far away from home either so I can easily commute each day.

Since its my last year though I have tons of research research papers to do which are like finals thesis for my particular major (History & International Affairs) so I'm going to be spending a lot of time in the library, no time to screw up 'cause I need a great GPA if I want to go to Columbia Grad School.

What school are you looking to transfer to?

I really do hope it is not getting worse. It effect economy all over the world I guess.

Oh, you mean Croatia? Right you are. I just hope they don't want more. *g*

My raised-up-with-team is MSV (not relevant in the Buli this year again unfortunately) but I do support Schalke, too. Though I have to admit that I am not a friend of the recent Gazprom-developments. And I never a thing for the BVB/Schalke hate thing. Tsk, my favourite goalie played for both clubs and I do like both to a certain extend. Nice game for you guys today, btw. Siiiiigh. Poor favourite goalie. At least he's the last one to blame and the VfB-fans in Germany really do love him. :)

Hehe, isn't it wonderful? Though I would enjoy it more had Schalke, VfB (and HOW, garrrr!) and Arsenal (to Hull! At home! Gnarfl!) not lost today. I wonder how long Klinsmann will remain coach..

Urgh, they talk about nothing else but the banks since weeks here. It's getting boring and actually starts to effect economy negatively. o_O

I just hope it's not us they are going to thrash this time. Meh. But little Marin is really something. He reminds me a bit of a young Schnix. :)
Mwahahah, of course I saw that game. You have to cherish rare moments like these I guess. And in the end apart from the FCB-fans everyone else in Germany just watches their games to see them fail. Which is seldom enough. *mopes*
I live between Cologne and Bonn right now. It's that Ruhrpott/carnival mentality. Bavaria is just not our thing. ;)

I can't help myself, it's always the goalie! lol Wiese.. *shudder*

In the states? I hope at least you have better wheather than I have here in Germany at the moment. It's really depressing. Btw, are they as panicky because of Lehmann (the bank) over as it comes across in Europe? One might think the world finanical market would collaps any minute.

Well, no England for me but I think I will go to the friendly match in Berlin. Even though I supect the traditional revenge thrashing for or traditional win at the Wembley, nahah. :)

Yeah, I was still too pissed off about the final and even though Enke is fine, seeing Wiese on the bench and Kahn as tv pundit is just too much terror to cope with at the moment. So I though for the sake of my sanity I should rather stay away for a while.

      Nice sheep btw, hehe.
