Nice article by Luis Lara. Having the chance to have Oscar Pareja as a mentor is going to make many youngsters want to play for FCD in the future. Pareja sigue de cerca a Bryan Leyva Una vez a la semana el joven de 14 años puede codearse con las figuras del FC Dallas y seguir los consejos de Óscar Pareja y Colin Clarke
More like: "What happens if we didn't read the original thread". BTW: 1) Have you seen this kid play? If so, how good does he look? 2) Does he actually look like he's a 14 year old kid?
Chamo does it actually say that Oscar works for FC Texas? I ask because he does work for Dave Dir's outfit ASG and that would be the first time I have heard he is now working for FCT.
Just wait until you get to be my age, 3D, and we'll see how your memory's doing. BTW, remember: "Toros! Toros! Toros!" (wasn't that a war movie ?? )
The article does not mention FC Texas. It talks about the kid spending one day a week training with FC Dallas.
where did you see fc texas? it says oscar pareja, assitant coach of fc dallas. hopefully the league gets some developmental rules set up, so dallas can benefit from working with young local players. Between Leyva and The Dallas Texans victory in the the dallas cup, there is plenty of local talents that could help out.
Worst movie to watch if you dont know Japanese. The subtitles are in white, and 2/3 of the japanese people in the movie are naval officers wearing white and the sky is bright when they are outside with planes and crap so you cant see what the heck is going on.
Yet it is infinitly better than steaming pile of crap that was "Pearl Harbor". Course I like a movie that devotes attention to detail and shows both sides of the story without trying to demonize either side.
I was the one who asked. The article was in Spanish and I can't translate. I asked because FC Texas is the youth club of FC Dallas. I specifically wanted to know if an FC Dallas coach was now working with his pro team's youth team. The reason is any player can be mentored by an FC Dallas player / coach at an FC Dallas practice but if the players and coaches start working exclusively with their youth organization the youth players would have a lot more time with them and it would be exclusive to that organization. I know things have just gotten off the ground for FC Texas (formerly Dallas Inter) but right now they don't have any more of a relationship to the parent club than most other local clubs except for wearing the same jersey. In fact if you check where players and coaches are working for youth clubs they are probably behind a lot of the other clubs. I wondered if this was a shift to bring them together.
it's baby steps for FCD and they are a long way from where the Red Bulls are now. For the mere fact the other clubs are making too much money to affiliate with FCD. FCD approach Dallas Texans first but they declined. I believe FCD just don't have the staff and money at this point.
A coworker of mine has a son who plays with an FC Texas U12 team. One game last month their coach couldn't make a game. Ronnie O'Brien filled in. So there is some connection. In addition, just about every time I've gone out to practice at PHP with the Inferno rec teams, Oscar is out there working with some kids. I assume they are FC Texas kids.
Very long story but about 90% of the teams left Everton and created Texas Futbol Club. As for Leyva, I believe he moved to Andromeda.
They were both steaming piles of crap. From Here to Eternity is the only decent mainstream US Pearl Harbor movie.
Follow up, at Dallas Cup Levya signed with Chivas Guadelajara. So, not only does that mean he won't be playing for FCD, it's also means he'll never (likely) play for the US again.
referring to post #16 in this autumnal thread - How was ROB as a substitute kid's team coach? and I wonder if Leyva's path will lead thru CD Chivas USA?
The parent I talked to was very pleased with him. She wasn't gushing about him or anything, but there were no complaints. Good point....that could be interesting.
Oscar was definitely on to something with this kid. Reportedly he is/was signed by Real Madrid and had offers from Barcelona, Chelsea, and half of MFL.
