Although the rankings are meaningless (kinda like the FIFA rankings), being ranked highly shows you're doing a good job.

I'm curious to see how our boy at Watford ranks among defenders.

The # 1 GK and #'s 1 and 3 midfielders are all yanks. Wow that is impressive.

Hopefully all three (and Demerit) are all in the EPL next year. We know at least BC and MH will be. Lewis needs to pull his team through but they're in a real dogfight.

EDIT: For some perspective, try opening the list of the top 100 CCC players on that page. To see Bobby Convey as #1 among that list is very impressive. Regardless of how the rankings are made, that is damn impressive. That's a whole lot of professionals to be better than, by any ruler.

Also, Demerit isn't in the top 100 it seems.

That one game at the AM spot where Bobby not only scored but had 4-5 shots on goal must have boosted him over the top this last week.

Also, SheffU and Leeds losing couldn't have helped those guys either.

no way, it's only 'cause he's on a winning team

I mean just look at the Premiership top 5...everyone knows Lampard, Van Nistelrooy, Gerrard, Henry, & Gallas suck...they just play for good teams

    or some such

I predict Bobby Convey will earn the biggest transfer fee in American soccer history after the WC. If Reading can hold on to him I'll be amazed. The guy is a bonafide superstar in the making. Call me crazy but he reminds me a lot of Arjen Robben.

Holy Sh!t. Same comparison I made after he subbed in against Poland. He is just as fluid with the ball at his feet as Roben, but prolly has him in the speed dept.

I have to raise an eyebrow of skepticism (that's halfway between a tip of the hat and a wag of the finger) at the idea that all of the top 10 players (and the next two to boot) play for the play for the four highest teams on the table.

But I do find the claim that Convey is Reading's best player fascinating.

    You're crazy.

Isn't Robben younger than Convey? Not to mention better....

Robben would have left Arne Friedrich about 15 yards behind.

Come to think of it, Robben went through the entire German defense himself a few times in their last friendly.

Dribbling Huth, Friedrich, Mertesucker and whomever else isn't that hard.

Donovan dribbled REAL German defenders in 2002.

Robben is ALOT faster - and Convey's fast. He's also more skillful, and has more flair...
