Red Bulls have scored 1 goal in 3 games, good opportunity for the Crew to take some points on the road again. Hopefully with the Red Bull press the Crew will use through balls/balls over the top to relieve the pressure, as the Toronto press last week made the team a little discombobulated and uncomfortable. Potential big game for Cucho if he can get on the end of a through ball or two.
NY will surely score on us right ? i see a draw but either team could get a late winner. A road win would be beautiful but I’m not expecting it with this roster is NY all healthy ?
Watching the last NYRB game for a sense of how this might play out is pretty much worthless. The elements were the clear winning in that Loons vs Bulls matchup. A record was set for the worst passing percentage in league history. NYRB will press us and how we handle it will decide the outcome. Do we cough it up and let them make 2 passes and get a lot of clean looks or do we manage to play out of it and transition quickly to get some chances of our own? I'm not convinced that either team can break the other down when the defenses are set in the low block.
Sounds like a good game to play Diaz. Will he be available? Dumping balls into space behind their defense will get them out of their press.
No posts in three days. The anticipation surrounding this match is palpable. Um, anyway, wake up! It’s match day! To add to the excitement, here’s our updated injury report: OUT: Josh Williams (ankle) QUESTIONABLE: Christian Ramirez (foot) QUESTIONABLE: Will Sands (back spasms) QUESTIONABLE: Kevin Molino (knee) And the MetroBulls: OUT: Dru Yearwood (hamstring) OUT: Serge Ngoma (hamstring) QUESTIONABLE: Lewis Morgan (hip)
This is very winnable game despite so many away matches early , outside of Philly we haven’t played any great teams and looking ahead we have plenty of winnable games on the schedule. We just need to hang in the top half of the standings and add some more firepower this summer
Molino? Knee? Gosh, knock me down with a feather. After all, the man has played a whopping 14 minutes this season. He's long overdue for a few months in the trainers room listening to tunes. He's got to be the biggest waste of money in Crew history.
My reaction was the same. Christ. Not that ownership is likely to go this route, but the roster rules changed this year so that teams can buy-out a player contract after the season begins.
I got +360 on Fanduel. Seemed like a reasonable wager. Road dogs is the only way to make actual money on MLS anyway.
Lose by one. We won so infrequently in the road under Porter, I have PTSD. They are gonna have to do it before I predict it.
Cucho out for precautionary reasons: knee pain. Sands back. False 9 with Lucas probably. Our XI in New Jersey 💪#Crew96 | @EaseLogistics pic.twitter.com/iYlixs48kj— The Crew (@ColumbusCrew) March 18, 2023
Room comes out, waves to a couple of Crew fans sitting near the visitor bench area. Does not wave to me sitting a section over. Plenty of legroom here. More than my seats in SEC 111 at Lower.com. Though, cup holders and armrests only in the club sections.
I read on the sports logo site that the Crew would be in all yellow tonight. But Crew comes out to warmups in the new black shorts. (To go with I presume the new black jerseys).
Not exactly a ringing endorsement for JRR or Arfsten. Cucho, Ramirez, and Molino all out and you still cannot get a start. I hate false 9's almost as much as short corners. And starting the Lollipop Guild up top does not inspire me with confidence. All they have to do is clog the middle. Crosses won't be a factor.
