And here I thought @4x4 was the Tucker Carlson of Barcagate, here to show us all how the misunderstood refs were merely tourists taking a walk in the park and the deal between Barca and Negreira a standard business practice. But this disassociative disorder theory might also help explain things. I mean both can be true at the same time.
Well I generally find myself agreeing with 4x4s in a lot of points (not every). But being here long enough to realize he sometimes gets into that narrative that he kinda feels like he has to be "the voice of reason" when the whole forum is passionate about something. That's why it feels like he's being a contrarian again now. It's basically the same thing that he did with Bale if you remember the arguments on the Bale thread.
And the consensus remains the same. Bale is a d1ck. I guess we are all gonna find out at some point several years down the line that Barca - the club, it's players and supporters are a bunch of cules. What a revelation that will be after @4x4s convinces us they are the best humanity has to offer.
I'm not necessarily passionate about this; I just believe that a club (regardless of whether it is a Barca, Leipzig or a Monza) that has potentially acted in a fraudulent manner should be appropriately disciplined. The nature of Barca's alleged acts suggests that they deserve the highest of punishments, as it touches on the fundementals of the sports. Taken that into consideration, I'd say he's far from "the voice of reason". It almost looks as if he's doing this on purpose, just to get people riled up. The thing is, and I've mentioned it before, people have been very reasonable considering the nature of the allegations. I don't know, it's a shame.
I get that. I've seen some games that I never would've watched, but since an ex Real Madrid player played I did. I pretty much always cheer for our exiles, unless they really messed up and hurt the club somehow. Xabi's success makes u wonder if Raul could have a similar success with Schalke.
So funny to see 4x4 who led the mob ganging up on someone with a different opinion with the whole contrarian bullshit to now be labeled himself the same by that same mob. Dont worry @4x4s, when your opinion is not in line with the hivemind, its independent/critical thinking, when mine isn't, its just because I'm stupid. pretty simple
Raul would be dumb to take a job at Shalke. He's in line to get the job at Madrid. The surest way to mess that up is to take a job at a mid level club where he won't win titles and the lack of titles result in him being ruled out of consideration for the job in favor of other candidates with the already won titles qualifications.
You appoint a bunch of judges with particular political leanings while closing off the path to others. Over time, incrementally, judgement will be passed towards those leanings. Not a simple caught you red handed, rather more complicated than it seems on the surface.
🚨 Leo Messi left Tuesday’s training because he was disappointed with what Galtier proposed. The coach tried to convince him to stay but Leo went home anyway. @Djaameel56 🇦🇷🔦— PSGhub (@PSGhub) March 17, 2023
I don't care either way, we'll all die alone. Have a pleasant day. The thing is, even if nobody agrees with me on this, i'm very comfortable with my opinion. Florentino has leveraged his political relationships to give the club an advantage whenever he could. If Barca have been caught guilty of manipulating games, we discuss it in this context. So far they haven't so that's the context i can see it as. If i accept that all of the top spanish referees were promoted for favoring Barca, then why play? Why face Barcelona this Sunday when the referee is apparently going to favor Barcelona because that's why he was promoted for? The fact that all teams published a statement but it's business as usual tells me this will drag on for an eternity until Barca accept some kind of huge fine and a penalty, Negreira gets a suspended sentence and things move on as usual.
That's a very funny statement to make considering how close Florentino has been to political figures in Spain.
By the way: First time attending a game in the press zone. journalist writing for major publication watching a different team, from a different sport on his computer screen while the game is going on, but has his article half done before the game is finished on a mock layout page of tomorrow's newspaper. What a weird experience.
Messi retired from football the day he won the world cup, took a long vacation after that as well and still came late. Anything happening now will be a half ass job. Don't think he's really bothered anymore. He completed the set.
[QUOTE="4x4s, post:If Barca have been caught guilty of manipulating games, we discuss it in this context. So far they haven't so that's the context i can see it as. [/QUOTE] I had to lol at this statement.
Agreed, this is what I was saying as well. For the record I also agree with the argumentation about the issue (that should tell you how wrong you are lol), it just doesn't motivate me enough to argue about it. imo Corruption is endemic and Im not getting all manichean on the issue just because anything Barca does triggers my identity to seek reinforcement. Its neither surprising nor unheard of in football. We lost titles through our own fault of not playing well enough during the season.
Doubt that Pep wants a player with that type of low work rate. Just these days he had to send KdB a message publicly that he wasn't doing the simple things meaning getting open. Even 3 years ago when Messi wanted out of Barca I never thought Pep wanted him.
'Pool have been linked to Mount for a while now, I wouldn't be surprised if some "conversations" have already taken place between certain parties.
