We go over this quite a bit on the women's forum about hiring and gender. For decades and decades minorities were specifically excluded from positions because of their race, gender, etc. - and now with years and years of rigged experience to prop up CVs it is "the best candidate should get the job." Convenient. As they say on espn, COME ON, man!
I have neither the time nor the patience to convey how completely incorrect, insulting, and ignorant this is. This isn't even a matter of opinion. You're just wrong. Do better. I suppose the best runner won fair and square... because meritocracy, or something.
Well, Behonick didn't end up at Oregon State. But, he's got his own program now. Probably a great hire for WOU. Definitely lucked into this one with a program that just started in 2022 -- and had a forgettable inaugural year.
About to be a bunch of French and Brazilians on their way to Oregon to turn that program around. Still no Detroit Mercy hire, this has to be some sort of a record.
The hire has been made, just no announcement yet. Stupid...and strange. Thanks for the link (above - @JoeSoccerFan) for Behonick, I meant to put on the link to the Twitter announcement.
Have these coaches applied for other positions? Just because they fit the criteria that you presented it does not mean that they are open to change employers.
Dannie Merida is big time. Driving force behind FIU's success over the past few years, couldn't have been done without him.

Is this perfect timing for Giovatto or what? I'm sure he'll have heavy competition and but he's got to have the inside track, no?

What's up at WSU? Two losing seasons after a few very good ones and your out. Anyone have news about this ?
So far, just rumors and speculation. A lot comes back around to inept administration. The institution has been struggling ($$$) for several years -- institutional and athletically. Cut programs. Brought some back. Contemplating of moving to DII. In the end, it makes no sense to drop a coach who's just signed a three year extension. They drop the coach with only 1-2 weeks left in the spring semester. Oh, the spring alumni game is coming up and that will probably be cancelled now as well.
None of those. Everyone who knows Jake Slemker is shocked at everything regarding this situation. Especially when it’s well known that Wright State hasn’t exactly been great in caring for its athletes across many programs.

Latest head coaching change made there.

Feel like it’s been awhile? It has been awhile. It’s only been open since 3/20. Takes awhile to sift through the candidates apparently…
They have had Zoom interviews but don't plan on bringing finalists on campus until July! If they strike out with that first group they are going to be scrambling.
Coming off a couple 1-win seasons maybe they're thinking longer term, IE fall 2023 is what it is? It's a total rebuild job so use 23 as year 0 to figure out whether you have any pieces to start building with?
