Since the Mbappe or nobody strategy has been such a success, why not replicate it?

Again, don't care if Asensio stays or goes. Of course he's busting his ass for a contract whether it's here or elsewhere. This is common knowledge to everyone involved. Haven't heard a peep from Asensio's camp about playing time, he'll never be a starter here and knows that.

Apparently, his camp/entourage said that it's not about the money but the role in the team, he already got a pay bump once (last summer) but refused to renew.

If Asensio stays I think Brahim will be sold to Milan. However, it was reported that Brahim could be RM's solution to the forward issue but again he's hardly a forward.

Asensio at a similar salary in a similar role is fine. Not more than that though.

Nah, still want some new blood in that spot. Time for Asensio/Hazard/Mariano/AO and probably one or two more to go this summer. Need some new squad chemistry.

All we’ll get if we fail with Bellingham is “we have Modric and Kroos, the two best players in their position” from master Perez anyway.

This squad is full of world beaters who don’t age and continue form no matter what

    lol

I dont think anyone here actually believes or has said this. Whike i dont want any "half assed signings" and im glaf we didnt reinforce the team in thw winter with some WC wonder, there are serversl players I would take for madrid. Hakimi, Graviol, Davies, Barella, Bellinhgam, Brahim, Odegaard, Mbappe, Haaland, Kane Krav kid from napoli (i dont know how its spelled), Reece James. If any of these players were to be signed, I would be delighted, im sure Im missing a few. From there I believe there is a strong drop in quality and im not as exited about bringing them im. Now I do believe the problem ribht now is ancelotti. Just too much miss match to what we actually need going forward.

You can't have it both ways and say the club has missed opportunities to fill out the squad with quality depth players but it's also Carlo fault for not being able to fit square pegs in round holes and put all the puzzle pieces together.

We all know Carlo can provide fine dining and international cuisine, if he has steak and lobster to work with. Stop insisting he make PBJ sandwiches with stale bread.

Who doesn't think Carlo will bring the Champagne if he sees a 5 course meal on the menu.

I don't think I've ever seen a Real Madrid player get as many chances as Asensio has. He's been the only RW in the squad ever since Bale's retirement in 2018. And here we are, 5 years later and he still hasn't locked down his position, trying to win a starting role in the offices rather than on the pitch. Get him out.

We desperately need new world class players but the reality is that we are not signign anyone in the summer....it is going to be Fran Garcia and maybe a Ceballos level midfieldr/attacker.

We are going to wait for Endrick and trust the same players....maybe Modric/Kroos will leave but the starting 11 will be prety much the same with almost no bench.

Thats disapointing but i have to say that as much as i have critisized Florentinos transfer policy in the past few years his policy was succesfull-Vinni/Rodrygo/Camavnga/Fede won us 2 league titles and a CL just few years after CR7 left.......thats huge succes.

You know what’s going to happen in the summer. Bellingham or bust. Mbappe 2.0. And we’re getting Brahim back from his loan + Fran Garcia. Two rotation options at best.

Looks like posters saying signing a quality backup forward would be a waste. Lol.

Just saw hazards contract ends 2024.... well that sucks.

If were not gonna bring in new players and should then be focusing on integrating the castilla players into the first team and play a high energy urgent game, I dont think ancelottk will be the one to do it.

Thats why the trasfer policy has been off, weve had success with what we have while the alternative is spending 100s of millions to not guaranter we can even replicate it. Id rather wait for top top players and try and repeat the cycle in 2/3 years than buying not elite talent.

It's been the weakest position in football for years though. You're most likely locking yourself up with mediocrity. Look at the substitute strikers on the top teams.

Bayern have Chupo-Moting as their substitute striker. Madrid signs this guy for the role and this forum reaches for the rope.

Manchester City don't even have a substitute striker. Who did Arsenal replace Jesus with now that he's injured.

I'd really like to hear those fantastic substitute strikers out there.

City signed Julian Alvarez. Arsenal have their academy player Nekitiah who has contributed with important goals since Jesus was injured.

What you’re saying is bizarre. We can not have a back up striker is what your point is. Mariano at this point is a third division player.

Those are not the kind of players people want as a substitute here. People are discussing guys that had offers declined for 80 mil. +

I've lobbied for the mid tier player a lot here, but the truth is those guys end up costing the club a huge chunk.
