I'm generally against it on principle like Queen. But having older bros I did like some of Yes's early 70s work. Google's telling me that they somehow kept making records into the 90s & 2000s
This is actually in a textbook...Retweet if you see it. pic.twitter.com/4029NnS4vZ— Terrible Maps (@TerribleMaps) February 4, 2023
I googled the name you suggested. There's no reason a band wouldn't have a name like that at any time since the 70s ended.
Wait... maybe it's me that's got the idea of remastering wrong. I'm going to go on record as saying I certainly don't think an album should never be remixed to clean up hiss and other noise, or to provide a nicer (or cleaner) effect when the original effects were shitty but all they had. As long as the old wine is still in the cask, complete with all the sediment you'd ever want in your digestive system, changing a bottle or two won't hurt anything. The very beginning beginning of You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (the couple of seconds of guitar just before the vox kick in) has some hiss and scratch that I wouldn't want taken out. But it has nothing to do with the quality of the sound- it's because it reminds me of an old AM dashbooard radio and drives with my dad from visiting his family and then returning home. I don't think my experience should dictate what happens to an album that needs to be heard by folks who weren't around for the dashboard AM radio era.
There's really two issues with the map. One is far more egregious (and hilariously dumb) than the other.
No way I was getting that one. Skateboarding didn't really arrive in my hometown until I had been living somewhere else for a decade.
No instrument- pretty much what I'd expect. Tony the originator is playing a bass, tho I can't say how well. Prolly a YT vid somewhere of this band..
I'm without doubt,...because I heared them You never heared them, so you're not sure. But just try this one to see if you can put them in the box "never to be listened again". I challenge you.
I got no beef with Hawk making money or achieving fame- he was just born a little too late to be an OG. Not counting those skates nailed to 2 x 4s
Didn't like it. Just sounded like your average hair-metal band ballad with the typical crescendo ending. She seems to have an opera worthy voice, which is impressive, but no, didn't care for it.
I couldn't find a good thread for this, so in here it goes. Also, I blame the Chicago Fire. Cuauhtémoc's venture into politics has been NOT GREAT! (see also, rafa marquez and cartels) A Mexican soccer icon entered politics. Prosecutors say narcos followed
It's a digital book, likely from the early to mid 2000s. I saw some of those when I first started teaching, and they were terrible. Even the professional ones.
