All these wannabe accountants and austerity zealots on this board need to understand two things. First, there are talented players not named Mbappe or Haaland who are worth the money. The whole narrative that everyone is mediocre while we live in an era of unprecedented talent, is pretty laughable. The only way to return investments is to make them in the first place. The shock and outrage over prices on the market really needs to die down. Its what it is, get with the times.

Secondly, the deference to seniority which guides the club's selection, substitution and transfer strategy needs to be scrapped asap. You can't have veteran players making decisions regardless how much history they have here. If Benzema doesn't want rotation, thats his problem. If Modric or Kroos don't want to get substituted, thats their problem. If anyone of them wants to risk their legacy by throwing tantrums over these issues, go ahead.

It makes it a lot easier practically (and justifiable morally) to remove a big name in the locker room if they don't submit to the will of the club. The quality they bring is not the same as a few years ago, so their talent is also replaceable. Look no further than the Ronaldo situation over at ManU.

The club has dominated the elite club competition with its idea of running the club while clubs that follow your mentality haven't won a flower pot in ten years.

Champion of Spain and Europe and you're here holding a Ted talk on how to run the club you absolute bozo. I have to laugh at this shit.

I remember Milan fans were also laughing in the late 2000s, telling the same stories "look at our trophy cabinet in recent years" and similar stuff as Berlusconi stopped investing. We all know what happened afterwards.

Your argument is the definition of complacency and unsustainability. The club hasn't dominated shit last year, it was a miracle (or fluke, depending how you wanna call it) CL run, and Barca was a joke in the league. When we were dominating before, it was because the squad had depth and constant renovation despite not having aging stars. Now its the opposite. Get your head out of your ass.

Exactly. He didn't just mean Hazard, Mariano and Ordiozola but also Arribas, Vini Tobias, Rodriguez, Martin and Iker Bravo.

Yeah but he wasnt being basically hanged for not buying players in The season before that. Also since mbappe was a bust flo knows RM fanbase are eager for a super signing. I dunno, I just feel that if we win again, it will be perfect for him to use rhat and say you see we still got it. If we bust, i doubt we go into next season without at least 3/4 signings and probrably the end of kros and or modric, carvajal, benzema as well as the ones wirh half a foot out the door.

Perez probably ********s our entire season up by not bringing in a cheap but useful LB and a backup CF

He better pull off a summer of his life because this sub standard squad ain’t going to cut it anymore.

8 points gap. La liga is over. This Barca team won’t drop points. Mark my words.

They will drop points but we’ll be too far behind for it to make any difference.

The schedule we have is brutal so expect more dropped points by us.

I hope its the perfect recepie for flo to make moves in the summer. By the way I love that we didnt brjng in anyone in attack and can go this season without trophies, but only if we revamp most of the team this upcoming summer

Lol wasn't the club's narrative last summer after the poor window that we'll reinforce in the winter post-WC? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Fool me once, buddy. I don't see Flo spending a dime until it's Mbappetime again. Papa is saving up.

Nawww that was media bs. We never reenforce in the the winter. It was the clubs narrative two summers ago when we wdroped 200 mil on mbaooe que were turned away. I for one said, "it dont matter, we wont win anyrhing thjs season but next season we will get mbappe". Well the oposite happened. We won everything and did didly squat in the summer. I was ok with that just as I am now because we won everything. If we win again, it will be the same narative as before. But if we loose I bet things change around quickly. Also touchameni and camavinga are prime examples that unless its a super gem going on the low that really want to play here, rhen we will move around a bit, if noy its just wait and see.

Club never said that. That was BigSoccer narrative to explain why we didn’t do more in the summer. Club never promised anything.

This was the Flo-sponsored media talk. I don't expect the club to release an official statement promising signings in the subsequent window.

Club has a very predictable transfer policy. Alaba, Camavinga, Rudiger and Tchouameni has the signings in last 2 years. Club worked on all those deals for months. Did so with Mbappe too, but we know what happened. Endrick was another obvious target since his Copinha performance pretty much.

Fran Garcia will be signed in the summer. Been working on Bellingham for months as well though probably he himself hasn't decided on his next destination yet. I hope we have Barella as plan B but I doubt it.

This. Ancelotti is a nice guy who won't rock the boat, he's a talking head for the board. He knows the deal.

Milan were always behind Madrid. Bought fatty Ronaldo off us and a Ronaldinho that was clearly stuck to the bottle off Barca fighting to stay relevant.

This is part of the reason a lot of people in Spain make fun of Madrid fans. When the team loses people stay to booh, when the team cruises to victory, people pack their shit to avoid traffic ten minutes before its over.

It's the same thing here, people are used to success that they see it as the norm. That we SHOULD win every game, every week, every season, and the failure of doing so reflects that the club is fundamentally flawed and ran in an incompetent fashion.

The truth is this club has been WILDLY successful and seeing people here claim its downfall and praise others that have only lifted their debts instead of trophies, is quite amusing to me.

There is a a fine line between demanding to see something that represents what you want to see the club doing, and believing that Madrid not winning means the club is obviously misguided.

It's a competition. That's why we play the games. Sometimes we win sometimes we lose. To some, when we lose, it's because the opponent won because of injustice and match fixing, or because the club is at Valencia institutional tier level.

By the way, I don't know if it was mentioned amongst the crying and yelling but the club did actually pay the 5 mil. for Fran Garcia, they just loaned him back to Rayo right away.

Rayo Vallecano had an agreement with Leverkusen, Madrid had a week to buy the rest of the 50% of the player (5 mil. Of a total buyout clause of 10 mil) or lose him.

So whatever the reason we didn't bring him back, it didn't have to do with spending. The club did buy the player, they just decided letting him finish the season at Rayo was better than throwing him into the middle of our season with Barca and Liverpool home and away within the next couple of months to define him as a player.

Then Sheva back after flopping at Chelsea and finished Kaka back from Madrid. Robinho from City. Berlusconi pretty much stopped covering the losses Milan made from 2007 onwards and signed these washed up players that would excite some naive fans.
