More importantly, if we completely cancel salmon and plankton, we will not have a debt crisis anymore.

Why do the semi fascists want to cut social security and Medicare?

even 70% of trump voters want to protect these programmes

Many will never realise this. Like the time they were happy to repeal Obamacare because trump promised them great health insurance

In my dear state of Utah, our legislature pushed through school vouchers (deprive public Ed of cash and students) and some anti-trans bills, stuff that has resoundingly failed in referendums recently. Our voting split is about (60-65)/(40-35), but representation is 80/20. They even passed a law saying you can’t strike down laws with a referendum if they pass them with a super-majority.

    HAIL GRIMES!!!

And he delivered bigly! He gave us the bestest health insurance the world has ever seen. Doctors would walk up to him with tears in their eyes saying "Sir, we didn't think it was possible but you did a miracle. You truly are God's anointed one to America".

My pro-Trump mother just mentioned that her monthly Social Security deposit just increased. I’m certain she’s clueless as to why.

True, all true. The man is a saint.

Someone please remind us how that plan worked. Why it was so much better than Obamacare.

But there is good news on the inflation front:

No doubt we'll continue to hear Republicans performing outrage over inflation still supposedly happening even when prices are dropping, as they in fact are.

Not to mention that they will demand that Biden and the democrats do something about it (no, not that, or that either) while defining themselves as small government conservatives and labeling the democrats as big government socialists...

Well, when gas prices start to drop precipitously in September, I saw a report (I think it was on Fox) about the negative effect THAT would have on "small business gas station owners."
Of course, it would not have a negative effect.

I wonder why. So did ProPublica and published this.

“One of President Donald Trump’s lesser known but profoundly damaging legacies will be the explosive rise in the national debt that occurred on his watch. The financial burden that he’s inflicted on our government will wreak havoc for decades, saddling our kids and grandkids with debt.

The national debt has risen by almost $7.8 trillion during Trump’s time in office. That’s nearly twice as much as what Americans owe on student loans, car loans, credit cards and every other type of debt other than mortgages, combined, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It amounts to about $23,500 in new federal debt for every person in the country.

The growth in the annual deficit under Trump ranks as the third-biggest increase, relative to the size of the economy, of any U.S. presidential administration, according to a calculation by a leading Washington budget maven, Eugene Steuerle, co-founder of the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center. And unlike George W. Bush and Abraham Lincoln, who oversaw the larger relative increases in deficits, Trump did not launch two foreign conflicts or have to pay for a civil war.”

Lots more if you care to be educated and not make a bigger fool of yourself.

    Trump himself warned us.

Well, thanks to that idiot, we are all much more familiar with debt than we used to be.

Gas prices didn't drop here until immediately after the election. I'm not kidding.
They dropped about $0.25 the next day and kept going from $4.25 (not the highest it had been) to under $4, and ultimately almost to $3, where it's back up to about $3.50 right now.

It's just weird. We have 5 refineries near the Great Salt Lake (4/5 do tier 3 gas), but because we are closer to the West coast than TX is, our gas prices are more linked with West Coast prices, minus the higher taxes. Costco is probably the best price indicator, because they don't really dick around, and it is more of a draw to get you to be a member and drop into the store more often.

I have no proof and don't really believe it myself, but the back of my mind keeps telling me it was collusion to keep rage up to turn out GOP votes. I haven't bothered to look into it further.
