Jao Felix time. He had a very decent 58 mins for us. Apparently there is a "special clause" in his loan agreement with us. Can anyone explain to me what it is and what it means? Also, I was thinking maybe Atleti would swap him for Havertz? Seems like Kai is much more of a Simone player and would do well there.

THE FFP and the UEFA close the ability to defer transfers over long contracts from this summer.

Fees can only be deferred over a maximum of 5 years.

It doesn’t affect Chelsea’s business up to now it might have a negative effect on future windows.

Anybody out there have a greater understanding of fiances than me? Well, almost everybody. But my limited understanding is that these longer contracts that we have been signing our new players to is really working out nicely for us. So much so that UEFA are changing the rules. lol. . . . Nobody had to pull any levers and nothing hurt.

Enough clubs complained (cough* arsenal *cough cough) about the lengthy pay terms and are butt hurt they didn't think of the idea. What would UEFA be without Chelsea. How many rules have been implemented because of our business approaches over the years. Yet, a country can own a club like City and PSG and payout ludacris wages without remorse.

Simeone is likely on the way out. Any special clause without an actual option to buy is likely only an option to match. Player swaps are fun but won’t happen.

Arsenal have given Trossard a three-and-a-half year contract at £27m.
If that's the case they're paying £7.7m per year in transfer fee.
We're paying £8.2m per year for Mudryk.
We're also paying £7k a week more in wages (£97k/£90k) to Mudryk.
But, come on, as we all know Mudryk is a much much better player.
We have done a very nice bit of business here.
    Innovation.

I mean there is a potential disaster in our long term contracts in that imagine if we had Lukaku on a 7 or 8 year deal with his wages. But fortunately we don't and so, here we are.

At this stage though Mudryk is just potential .. he’s only made about 18 FIRST team STARTS in his whole career apparently.. despite being 22 ?
He could become a real top player of course

Whereas Trossard is a PROVEN talent .. who scored a Premier League hattrick earlier in the season .. he also did as much as Mudryk managed but in ten minutes as opposed to Mudryk’s 30+ minutes

Trossard is 28 .. with around 300 games under his belt and around 100 goals scored ( including internationals )

Having seen both of them play, it is clear which player is the better one. Also, it is clear that Mudryk was the first choice of both Chelsea and Arsenal. Trossard is a decent second choice. AND comparing the financial deals struck, it is clear Chelsea executed the better business.

Still time for some more deals? I do think with UEFA changing the rules about amortisation being limited to being spread over 5 years max, starting from the summer, we might see a bit more of a push to try get a few MORE deals this window before the change.

    More is MORE.

Malo Gusto signs for Chelsea, but it looks lik our new RB will be loaned back to Lyon for the remainder of the season. So at least we shall have decent RB coverage NEXT season

[David Ornstein] Chelsea have reached an agreement in principle with Lyon to sign right-back Malo Gusto for €30m + add-ons. 19yo France U21 int’l will remain with #OlympiqueLyonnais until end of season before joining #CFC in summer @TheAthleticFC after @FabriceHawkins

Trossard was the best player on the pitch in his first start for Arsenal.. playing away in a weakened team as well

Can’t wait to see Mudryk in his next game

When will Felix be available ?

It's a double edged sword, signing players on 7 or 8 year contracts. We're able to sign more players now but would also use up our future budgets. Anyway it's a moot point beyond this window since it will be outlawed.

Romelu Lukaku to Spurs in the summer? The Harry Kane replacement?
Newcastle also said to be interested in the LARGE lump of lard, aka BIG Rom

Arsenal want to sign Declan Rice AND Moises Caicedo. Arsenal have bid £70m for Caicedo. Brighton want £80m. Rice will be about the same amount of money this summer. Both good players, but I do not think Chelsea should sign either of them. Chelsea need to continue to pursue Enzo Fernandes and/or De Jong in the summer imho. In my humble opinion.

Well, we do not need some of our midfield players. I would be inclined to keep Gallagher as a decent squad player. But something has to give in the midfield - we are over stocked with decent 'squad players'.

Enzo deal. . . If this comes off people will applaud Todd, and rightly so, but lets also remember that Roman has bankrolled this spending spree with his deal for Chelsea last year, without that we wouldn't be able to spend like this, obviously FFP has to be adhered, but it looks like the money the club made from the sale comes under our earnings.

He’s not agreeing to go to Everton and play for Dyche. If Newcastle or Palace put that offer out there he’d likely be gone but he isn’t leaving just leave.

What's the worst that can happen, we break the bank and he gets injured first game out? Lol what's the likelihood of that....
