Thanks again buddy for your incredible efforts in adding votes for all these years. Of course, once we have finished the 2022 votes but also the pre-1950 votes, and some stability, which I assume will be during the spring (?), I will take over the votes and try to do the updates with the new voters, to take some of the work off your shoulders. I had some questions about the templates. Do you think I should use the BigSoccer concensus winners instead or should I use the Big Soccer + Reddit concensus for this? Concerning the Youtube videos, I have a channel I like named Dunia Zen: https://www.youtube.com/@DuniaZen_BallondOr I could try to contact him to see if we can do some interesting things with him, especially with the archive images when possible. Then I would have to know if he is interested or not. I'll let you know, once we manage to gather enough votes and stability.
Ok mate - I don't have a clear view or preference really myself on whether it would be better to include Reddit voters. Maybe yes (they are already included in the pre-2000 tallies of course, but it's just that there are very few of them voting at that point).
@IceBlood34 maybe this is interesting to you, and maybe @Krokko can provide clarification about how it was arrived at even (I remember IceBlood that you were interested in the topic anyway - I don't know whether there might be an argument for more recent players to be among the best ever...which maybe seems weird for me to say as I might tend the other way if anything with male players lol...but I could also just not know enough about enough female players from the past of course: anyway I might not be so much thinking of an influx of the successful English team (and I think some people if I remember/understand correctly from some comments on TV do still think of Kelly Smith as the best individual English female player), but there are others like Pernille Harder for example who maybe would have a claim based on their best level in recent years - Krokko might have some insight on that particular call though anyway, being Swedish, and Harder being from neighbouring Denmark) Football Ratings: The 30 best female soccer players in history (football-ratings.blogspot.com) 1. Thanks so much for the information, buddy. It's very interesting to see other people's opinions about this. Nevertheless I'm more interested in the best players ranking of each year and not the all time ranking, but thanks for the link. I'll try to dig into this again soon in the Women's Soccer Big Soccer forum section.

What is interesting is to see that there seems to be a certain consensus, except for the early 2000s. There seems to be a period of vagueness, between 2000 and 2007 (before the two monsters arrived). Certainly some winners are legitimate, like Ronaldinho or Kaka, but some remain controversial. We can see the differences below: 2000: Zidane (2), Figo, Shevchenko, Rivaldo, Totti (BigSoccer) 2000: Figo, Zidane, Shevchenko, Rivaldo, Totti (BS + Reddit) 2002: Zidane (3), Ronaldo, R Carlos, Ballack, Kahn 2002: Ronaldo (3), Zidane, R Carlos, Ballack, Kahn 2003: Nedved, Henry, Zidane, van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo 2003: Henry, Nedved, Zidane, Maldini, van Nistelrooy For the other years, the differences are very small, which makes for a close fight. Typically, the beginning of the 2000s is very difficult to explain, between the return from hell of Ronaldo in 2002, the talent of Zidane still there but some sports deceptions, and some players who make big years (Henry, Figo, Nedved), quite difficult to see clearly. It's incredible to think that Zidane could stay at only 1 Ballon d'Or according to one of the panels, and on the other hand be at 3 Ballon d'Or.
I think for 2022 I will add this vote by myself now, based on 2021/22 & calendar year 2022 combined (following the same method I used before) then: 1) Kylian Mbappe, 2) Karim Benzema, 3) Mohamed Salah, 4) Robert Lewandowski, 5) Luka Modric I'll start to count up votes we already have for 2022 from everyone else too over the next days, but I guess there might still be more to come so I thought it could be a good time to bump the thread and mention it now since we're getting to near the deadline IceBlood had set. Afterwards I'll see what we have for pre-1950 years too.
Unless something goes very wrong (or very right for another player), feels like the WC-win will carry Messi to another Ballon d'Or.

Yes you're right mate, we can't wait to see what the other votes have in store for us! Once you show the 2022 + pre-1950 votes, I'll start working again on my templates. By the way, I still haven't received any answer from Dunia Zen about the video project... although he liked my post on his Youtube account... If someone knows (or would be able) to make a Youtube video (I'm thinking of @Perú FC ?), we're interested.
I notice an interesting 1987 XI and subs bench by Guerin Sportivo, that @Krokko has posted on Football Ratings Blogspot Clearly a calendar year XI (Barnes is cited as a Liverpool player, Van Basten as a Milan player for example; Gullit also Milan , Futre Atletico Madrid....). I wasn't sure if it was one vegan10 had posted before on Big Soccer, but didn't think I recognised it, and maybe this thread is as good as any for it to go on (not necessarily to lead anyone to change any vote though).
Very small changes to the 1981 Ballon d'Or revisited standings, but I'm re-posting the full 1980s lists below with the points for 4th/5th split between Breitner and Junior (the 3 above them remained the same as in Titanlux's original post) 1980 Ballon d'Or Revisited Big Soccer# panel consensus 1 Diego Maradona (Argentina/Argentinos Juniors) - This list is actually based on several other lists published in Sweden and abroad in the last couple of years. They are not as abbundant as in men's football of course, but still interesting IMO.
I thought at this juncture what might be interesting is a top 35 players per decade for the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s (Big Soccer voting only), 2000s (Reddit voting added in), 2010s (Big Soccer voting only), 2010s (Reddit voting added in), based on total points received during the decade in question from all our votes thus far (so not based on finishing positions within each yearly list). It's going a little off topic, but maybe a nice summary to see, so I'll start with the 1950s, using the above latest standings: 1) Alfredo Di Stefano - 605.5 2) Ferenc Puskas - 476.5 3) Raymond Kopa - 342.5 4) Sandor Kocsis - 233.5 5) Pele - 225.5 6) Didi - 190 7) Juan Schiaffino - 170.5 8) Gunnar Nordahl - 138.5 9) Ademir de Menezes - 110 10) Fritz Walter - 91.5 11) Ladislao Kubala - 90.5 12) Nandor Hidegkuti - 81 13) Zizinho - 78 14) Stanley Matthews - 62 15) Nils Liedholm - 53.5 16) Jozsef Bozsik - 42.5 17) Julinho - 41 18) Omar Sivori - 38.5 19) Luis Suarez Miramontes - 38 20) Duncan Edwards - 34 21) Obdulio Varela - 33 22) Faas Wilkes - 31 23) Gunnar Gren - 28.5 24) Billy Wright - 23 25= Just Fontaine, Ernst Ocwirk - 22.5 27= John Charles, Bernard Vukas - 22 29) Tom Finney - 15.5 30) Nat Lofthouse - 14 31) Telmo Zarra - 13 32= Zlatko Cajkowski, Garrincha, Milos Milutinovic - 12 35) Alcides Ghiggia - 10
Doing the same for the 1960s (then I'll have a break; possibly adding more today but possibly not) (I think by the way, IIRC, in some decades the number of voters for each year might vary just a little bit with some years having more than others : I've forgotten exactly without checking but anyway maybe that can influence things to a small degree so I'm adding this note about it - comparing total points for all players between all the decades would be less useful anyway because certainly some decades had a few more voters than other ones did, and once the Reddit votes are added in then recent years have considerably more voters than early/mid years) 1) Pele - 871.5 2) Eusebio - 330.5 3) Luis Suarez Miramontes - 247 4) Bobby Charlton - 246 5) Garrincha - 190 6) George Best - 178 7) Gianni Rivera - 176.5 8) Ferenc Puskas - 139 9) Florian Albert - 121 10) Omar Sivori - 99 11) Denis Law - 88 12) Jimmy Johnstone - 79 13= Tostao, Lev Yashin - 72 15) Josef Masopust - 70 16) Franz Beckenbauer - 63 17) Johan Cruyff - 61.5 18) Jimmy Greaves - 59 19) Dragan Dzajic - 58 20) Giacinto Facchetti - 55 21) Luigi Riva - 43 22) Alfredo Di Stefano - 40 23) Bobby Moore - 38 24) Pedro Rocha - 33 25) Sandro Mazzola - 30 26) Uwe Seeler - 26 27) Gerd Muller - 25.5 28) Alberto Spencer - 25 29) Amancio - 17.5 30) Coutinho - 13 31) Danny Blanchflower - 7 32= Carlos Alberto, Gerson - 6 34= Mario Coluna, Johnny Haynes - 5

Dearman's 2022 vote is here now in effect - as there is a specific 5th and 6th place rather than tied 5th Lewandowski will miss out on any points though (I need to check if Dearman has changed some placings for earlier years too since I incorporated his selections into our voting like IceBlood had suggested, and adjust the points accordingly if so)
2000s (Big Soccer only) total points breakdown for top 35(36) points scorers....(there may be a small amount of vote skewing as some voters may have started after 2000 IIRC...but that will apply moreso to the Reddit voting anyway, when that is factored in) 1) Zinedine Zidane - 330 2) Cristiano Ronaldo - 307 3) Ronaldinho - 299 4) Lionel Messi - 287 5) Thierry Henry - 285 6) Luis Figo - 197 7) Kaka - 169 8) Xavi - 146 9) Andriy Shevchenko - 120 10) Pavel Nedved - 111 11) Frank Lampard - 91 12= Fabio Cannavaro, Ronaldo - 84 14) Raul - 76 15) Oliver Kahn - 74 16) Fernando Torres - 72 17) Francesco Totti - 67 18) Roberto Carlos - 62 19= Michael Ballack, Andres Iniesta - 55 21) Steven Gerrard - 54 22) Deco - 52 23) Michael Owen - 44 24) Samuel Eto'o - 43 25) Ruud van Nistelrooy - 41 26) Rivaldo - 34 27) Gianluigi Buffon - 31 28) Didier Drogba - 29 29) Andrea Pirlo - 25 30) Adriano - 15 31) Iker Casillas - 13 32= David Beckham, Paolo Maldini - 10 34= Franck Ribery, Juan Roman Riquelme, Patrick Vieira - 5
