I just don't see Leeds going down. They are more talented than their record, and there are at least 3 or 4 teams more crap than they are.

You can say that Bradley played in PL, but better not to.

Matt Miazga technically played in 3 of the top 5 leagues as well.

  7. Beasly under Hiddink knocked star studded epl club arsenal out of the CL and only barely were eliminated by AC Milan.
So what about those better leagues?

You're right that Hollier was the gaffer during the season, and I'm right that McLeish didn't rate him. McLeish became the manager in June and then he didn't pick up MB's contract. Houllier actually wanted to sign him after the loan period.

I don't think Gooch ever made a league appearance in Serie A but he did play some matches in La Liga and the Premier League while Beasley only played in the Premier League and Bundesliga.

My dad-humor meter says there's a play-on-words with his hometown and Elland Road to be had.

What’s nice about this move is surely Wes felt comfortable with the conversations about what his role will be. He could have gone to Arsenal and been a squad player.
I had a scary thought that maybe Leeds see him as a RB because that is a weak spot for them. But it doesn’t make sense - he wouldn’t have gone.

Why is the title named Spaghetti Weston? Not Range on the Pizza Weston?

Music was solved by Bach, he completed all possible variations. Everything after him is just a commentary on his work.

I am with you about 100% and we must have a similar taste in music (and age) BUT when I have these thoughts a scene of a movie pops into my head: Spinal Tap when the limo chauffer is going on and on about much more feeling and musicality Frank Sinatra et al had than the ‘music today’. Of course, ‘today’ was the 1970s/80s for that film. Anyway, each generation has their own thing!

Back on topic (kinda): the ‘Who is Live at Leeds: Weston McKennie’ thread title is truly a good one!!

    Let’s have a title that celebrates youth;

‘I don’t care Who was, Weston is the man in Leeds now’

Old people crack me up - and I'm old myself.

It's one thing to feel this way as an aging rocker, it's another to not be embarrassed to express it in public. Like... how many tracks was your studio mixer, bruh? lol. You think Walsh and Eagles never overdubbed? "My tech was cool! Yours is trash." I'm old enough to remember building a garage-built "talk box" (to go with my wah-wah pedal) after Walsh and Frampton subjected us to that "musical" chicanery.

Anyway, I'm going to go snap open a Pils and put on some Adrienne Lenker, then maybe some Bea Kristi, Growlers, Julien Baker, maybe some Coumba Gualo and Los Angeles Azules... Who knows where the night might lead... And soon Wes will be ensconced on the Aire and we'll be back to footie...

"Aire on a G-string..." probably means something different to a 20-something footie player.

    Get off my lawn!!!!

I would argue there are more creative musicians out there today than during the 60s through the 90s. You just have to turn off your terrestrial/satélite radios and start browsing the internettywebs.

I guess in terms of Pop music you are correct though.

Way too many threads on BS devolve into old guys rambling about music. Can someone please corral these geezers into a limited thread pool?
