The problem for Hoppe is if he’s gonna be a wide player he’s so far down the depth chart he might as well be posting about US games on big soccer….because when it matters he’s gonna be watching on tv every time.
I think the USA is NOT slow. However they tend to receive the ball or see a pass or dribble happen and then they decide what to do. Good players know what to do before it happens. We are not good.
The CMs in this camp ain’t it. Pomykal and P. Aaronson might come good. I’m pretty well over Acosta, Williamson and Sonora. They aren’t good enough and probably never will be.
Acosta, trying to launch that bolt of lightning....turns it over. Maybe if he turns it over 50 times he'll get one miracle somewhere.
When we win the ball, we immediately have players bombing forward, which is good, but we have no one checking back toward the ball for the short pass, which is a big problem. Colombia is getting stretched and leaving a big gap between the back line and midfield. Unfortunately, we have no one taking up positions in that gap. That's why we end up making so many speculative long passes.
