Not much on the line for this match.

Huge shot block by Brooks - Lewa was cranking up from just behind the penalty spot.

Brooks taking a bow - Kohfeldt subs him out to get the standing ovation.

On the bench in the Champions League. Otamendi takes a huge hit and awkward landing. Brooks warming up to debut in case he's hurt.

Right as I turn it on for Brooks' return to the BL, he's victimized defensively. Drifted away from his area, ball went over the top, and he couldn't recover. 0-1 to BMG.

Wasn't his man. He swings over to cover after Angelino cuts inside for some reason. He makes the decision to do it later than he should have, but he was never marking Hoffmann.

I think you're uninformed about the duties of a central defender. It's to cover the most dangerous attackers. There were two running toward the box. He wasn't guarding anyone. That's a mistake.

I didn’t realize Marcus Thuram is Lilian Thuram’s son until a couple of days ago. Strong and fast forward. Brooks hauls him down at center stripe and gets a yellow.

Brooks with a yellow for pulling down BMG’s forward after losing a header at midfield.

He just transferred there and their team isn’t good, but he’s not covered himself in glory so far.

He looks slow, bro. And not very anticipatory to make up for it. Ball over the top beats the offside trap, he clumsily tries to recover, doesn't get there, and Hoffman finishes his 2nd bite at the apple.

VAR review results in 2nd goal for BMG. Some disarray in back for Hoffenheim.

Nice to see Brooks back in the BL. But…. he looks like he hasn’t played consistently in months… which he hasn’t. Mistakes on both goals this half. Not a good day for him. Hopefully it’s better over the next couple of games.

I think it is a big ask to start him in middle of back three especially after long layoff. He does things well but decision making has to be dead on and that isn’t always the case.

Hoffenheim with 2 subs to start 2nd half. Rudy sent to the bench and a teenager brought in for him I’m assuming to add some energy to midfield.

I don’t see much in the way of attacking quality for Hoffenheim. BMG seems pretty content with their 0-2 lead at 70’.

That’s kind of the story of the last few years for Brooks, isn’t it?

Cup Action today vs RB Leipzig. Forsberg puts RBL up 1-0 in the 8th minute. He cuts in from the left, the winger wasn’t tight to him and he blasted a nice shot near post out of the sight and reach of the GK. Very nice goal. Brooks wasn’t part of the breakdown.

RBL scored again to make 2-0 in the 43rd. Hoffenheim are getting overrate and overmatched. Totally dominated. Brooks played a part in the second goal as he couldn’t come out at close the shooter down fast enough. he had to come off his man to do so. Not totally his fault, but he played a role.

1-0 Bochum on tap in on cross from left. Brooks dropped back from line that allowed pass down flank to runner to stay onside and then make the cross. Brooks was 2 yrs or more behind rest of defensive line. Coach won't like that.
