Call me crazy.... but I feel like MVT might be 100% right in her assertion Gwinn will return to full fitness in time for the WC...:cautious:

Few comments on the Wolfsburg/Leipzig match which pitted the #1 teams from Bundi 1 & 2 leagues; pretty decent game despite the spartan stream coverage with no commentary or titles. Leipzig kept the score tied 2-2 till about the 75th minute when Wassmuth scored a couple of quick goals for the final 4-2 win. WOB being allowed 10 subs surely helped their cause.
But got to wonder why Stroot’s having such an hard time even though each of his 21 players used have more creds then any of
Leipzig’s? Of course, he wasn’t playing his preferred 11 starters, but still expect better with a front lineup of SJD, Brand, Bremer in the 1st half….Wassmuth, Pajor & Blomqvist in the 2nd.
So again, the feeling for me is that’s he’s not getting the best value or that his players are getting way too complacent out there(Oberdorf fouled, which gave an dangerous & successfully converted free kick to Leipzig( Hopefully things will change once the spring season gets underway

Leipzig proved again that they could play at mid tier, Div one. They were missing their striker Mueller(who scored the two goals in their upset of Frankfurt). Their other fwd, Fudilia, got a very accurate shot, but wow, she was short & most likely dint have the speed in her legs to compete at the highest level. Leipzig did have some athletic players like their mid Rokow(which I hyped earlier & did get a goal as well) & their FB, Beck. Overall look forward to seeing them play at next season’s Div one(that’s if their squad’s best players don’t get bought up by richer clubs).
I read something that Mittag was moving over to Viktoria Berlin, )not sure in what capacity she was servicing Leipzig though)

@hotjam2 thinking back on how you recently resorted to deploying cheap tactics to try and attack my opinions...
    Yeah... about that...:whistling:
1618245837498503168 is not a valid tweet id

From stating Oberdorf overrated, or saying Germany's (factually worst) u20 team actually a great footballing team...:speechless:; I've never seen someone swing and miss soooo consistently attempting to analyze young talent/youth football, but somehow still believe their a home run king, thanks to a lone highly dubious successful slide to first base on a wnt playing Krumbiegel finally being something more than a training mannequin lol.

I always said Büchele never looked ready for regular first team football (as a CAM) within a team like Freiburg's, and despite your claims about her being a potential star, she's now about to go on loan to mid table Swiss league FC Basel...o_O

No video, but looking at the team used for this game, it appears Hagel went back to a CM/CAM role, and Hoffenheim finally introduced one of their young CB's, an 18yo called Linette Hofmann.

Sooo... with Specht's return allowing Hagel to move back into the mid-field, should we expect to see a better Hoffenheim for the 2nd half of the season...?

A GK error, and then a brilliant FK, the only real attempts Leipzig would record on goal lol. Besides these two moments, this match was pretty much one way traffic...

But I've personally given up trying to understand what Stroot is asking from this group of players right now, as his key players continue to only play well for short periods of time, then mentally slow down during games where winning will often appear to be anything but convincing...:cautious:

To me, Wolfsburg currently in a state of limbo; one hand on the league title, with their main focus on the UWCL, during a season we haven't seen them really need to produce one stand out performance to win a single game of football...

Looking at what Meppen have also done this season, you might be actually correct...

LOL... and after you've reduced her effectiveness towards weird concerns over size and speed, guess who's the top scorer in the 2nd division this season... yeah, with 12 goals in 11 games, it's Vanessa Fudalla..:giggle:

Anyone shorter than Dallmann should defiantly be considered short lol. But looking at her impressive technique, and knowing the key factors placed on her positional role (CAM), I don't see issues with athleticism being the main factor that holds her back.

Leipzig's a team full of former junior internationals, and various players who've already experienced life within 1st division clubs, yet you act like they're a team of completely random unknown quantities...

Lol, Buchele never played for the u20 WC squad. It’s not like the club is paying full time salaries(Minge & Karl work for Freiburg’s finest aka the police department). So she might be moving for other reasons like work or school or just traveling. She’s only 18, still got her career ahead of her!

Even though I didn’t watch them actually play(only the highlights) maybe wishful thinking but would have liked to see new talent emerge from that u20 squad—but as currently is, even the players that had creds(Grawe, Wamser, Conely) haven’t exactly flourished so far this season either. So in hindsight, were . But I remember too that the star studded 2018 WC squad, Buhl, Gwinn, Oberdorf, Nusken didn’t exactly shine either, almost got beat by Haiti!(and yeah. You picked on poor Freigang like you pick on Krumbiegel now!)
If you go by the 9 month recovery from ACL/rule of thumb, then Gwinn should be back the field(playing competitively) by mid June. Will she be back at her prime would be the big question mark. We’ve seen where Kuver back by pre season, but only managed 125 minutes/one start, for Frankfurt, so far in league play.
To add that MVT taking on another risk if she chooses Marozsan over an way better but not so popular named player

    This explains it lol...:ROFLMAO:

Oh really... I couldn't tell how you managed to form such poor opinions using highlights lol. Losing games, struggling to create chances, I'm shocked to know you'd say the exact opposite of blatant fact, to instead play games of needless contrarianism, just to troll me for my opinions on the team...

The last u20 German wnt absolutely the worst Germany have ever sent to a WC; but no... watching highlights allowed hotjam2 to argue with me, and confidently proclaim this actually the best u20 German side he'd seen in a long time lol.

Corley joined the u20 WC squad on the back of a season she'd score 5, assisted 4, playing 32 games for Hoffenheim across league, UWCL, and domestic Cup... but she was on the bench ALL 3 games of the u20's terrible WC, so a 2nd division playing Vobian could start ahead of her....
I can't really speak on past/present form of Wamser, or Gräwe, but I know Corley held more than enough credibility to be a strong player within the u20 wnt, and right now within the club game still continues to be the best player from the mess we'd witness as the last u20 squad.

Yes, that 2018 u20 team had a very good core of players, but all together while playing in completely random positions, would form a pretty average footballing side, who'd still finish top of their WC group, only to eventually lose to an even better footballing Japanese side, that would go on a win the entire event... so yeah, sounds like a bad take hotjam2...:whistling:

Plus me acknowledging the weakness of a teenage Freigang as FW should be viewed as something pretty normal, not torment... Freigang simply a teen lacking the fundamentals of a strong FW, clearly far stronger as a #10/CAM, who (very similar player to Roord) would be able to successfully double as a false #9 for her senior level club team.

Freigang would become so good as a false #9 within the league, that me (supposedly a hater) would feel her lack of use as a CAM ahead of Dallmann during the Euro's, a potential key factor for the teams eventual frustrating loss in the final; this as Krumbiegel somehow receives game time for the senior wnt, still unable to start for her club.

...o_O Who's this player...? And why do I feel like your just wanting to make this about Minge again lol, even though Minge still wouldn't be in the WC squad if Marozsan unavailable for selection.

Seriously... without competing with Marozsan, Dallmann, or Leupolz, please explain to me why/how Minge gets into a 23 player WC squad as a CM/AM ahead of healthy options like Oberdorf - Nüsken - Lohmann - Däbritz - Magull - Lattwein....

    midfield Euro squad was;

    starters; Magull, Dabritz, Oberdorf
    subs; Lattwein, Dallmann. Lohmann

so nope, there’s no place for Minge, neither for Marozsan or Leupolz or Senss unless you start serious dropping members from the Euro squad…..and notice, Dallmann was on the poster for the upcoming Swedish friendly!

And THIS is where MVT will need to improve the nature of her team selection most, as her inferior vision of a 2nd choice mid-field trio, continues to hold this team back from reaching it's true potential

This evidenced again during the 2nd half of the last friendly Vs the USA, where Dallmann remained a horrible back up option for a CAM, with the obvious lack of a genuine DM presence whenever Oberdorf not playing becoming an increasingly major tactically concern.

In a perfect world though, MVT would move Dallmann into a wide forward to compete for a WC place, and then move Nüsken, or Leupolz, into the CM/DM pool, to instantly have the Euro's group looking like a stronger squad for the WC.

Dallmann was never a serious player for Germany during the Euro's, but instead a irrelevant passenger in every match she featured, constantly being carried by the more impressive work of others...:whistling:

Plus while Däbritz clearly a high quality player, she still leaves major questions about her true value as a CM whenever she's compared to equally impressive options like Lattwein, or Lohmann, for a team almost broken if it starts without Oberdorf in the pivot role.

So clearly there's a lot more work for MVT to do here, with Germany having enough genuine CM talent to drop/remove someone like Däbritz from the starting 11, and still remain a very strong, or potentially even more effective within the mid-field.

@hotjam2 My idea of an improved squad....
    Bühl/Brand ----------------- Freigang/Schüller/Popp ---------------- Huth/Waßmuth
    -------------- Magull/Lattwein -------------------- Lohmann/Däbritz ---------------
    ------------------------------------ Oberdorf/Nüsken -------------------------------
    Rauch -------- Hendrich/Doorsoun ------------- Hegering/Kuver -------- Gwinn/3rd FB
    --------------------------------- Frohms/2nd GK/Berger -----------------------------------

Freigang, Huth, even Lohmann, would surely be improvements for Dallmann's back up CAM role, no? Allowing MVT to then open more room for another CM who can also be deployed as a strong DM replacement for Oberdorf, no?

Not wanting to use her as a CB, MVT should also drop Kleinherne, and upgrade the defense by bringing Küver in as a stronger option for LB/RB roles, being a young player with a higher potential within the team as a future elite CB too.

You can clearly see if Dallmann can't beat Huth, Waßmuth, Bühl, Brand, for a wide forward position why she really shouldn't be going to the world cup as a specialist CAM anymore, if it's within a team already featuring at least 3 ready made options proven to be more effective in the same CAM role...:coffee:

@hotjam2 This is why Dallmann has to finally prove herself on the elite stage while playing for Bayern, as her current form as a wide forward managing to place her among the top 5 players across Europe's top 5 leagues.

Meaning if Brand a unique talent, and Huth and Bühl remain all but confirmed first choice for MVT, it leaves Dallmann to compete with Waßmuth for a potential wide forward role; and for all Dallmann's positive league stats this season, I still feel like it's Waßmuth who's been the player with a far more meaningful presence whenever she's faced tougher opposition aka she's anything but invisible...:whistling:

well at least Hagel will not to have to work at her part time, student aide job anymore, as she’s just signed an multi year contract with Wolfsburg.

so Wolfsburg already has the two best teams in the Bundesliga(the starters & the 11 subs) are they’re trying for the 3rd best team as well?

    Wills…….Hendrich…….Jansen…..Rauch
    ………Oberdorf…….Lattwein
    Huth…………..Roord………Popp
    …………………Pajor

and the likely starting lineup of Bundi’s 2nd best squad

    ………………….Weiss
    Wedemeyer….Hegering….Demann….Agrez
    Wolter…………Starke…….Blomqvist
    Brand……….Wassmuth….Jonsdottir

Why does this feel like early preparations for the eventual departure of Roord...; however, once again I need to applaud Wolfsburg's improved attitude towards acknowledging the potential of the various talents within their own league...

Weir the only CAM I see right now playing outside of Germany, who I truly believe capable of matching what a peak Harder provided Wolfsburg; but with Hagel not being fast, or dominating physically, this transfer appears to be setting a very different direction in policy for Wolfsburg's criteria of AM recruitment...:cautious:

Wolfsburg's attacking options are more impressive, but Bayern's mid-field should be stronger.. no...? And then I look at Bayern's defense and genuinely believe their FB and GK options significantly superior to Wolfsburg's.

Alongside Janssen, Wolfsburg currently in possession of Germany's 1st choice CB's, but I wouldn't call Bayern's CB options particularly inferior (Bayern have the superior defensive record this season).

Basically, this surely as simple as Bayern needing to play better lol, with the quality of squads o display here not being close to as one sided as your projecting...

this has become easliy the post predictable seasone ever in choosing who's going to win the league title, but now, this early on, we can easily predict who's going to win next season as well. From counting all the youth & senior NT experience on Wolfsburg's current roster, it's; domestic',
619/ iternationals, 482 for an combined total of 1099 caps between them, Often their playing opponents(especially Div 2 friendlies) opponents with zero caps between them!

it's gettig beyond bizarre how much more experienced Wolfsburg is than it's opponents 7 it's getting t oan point as to wonder how can the WOB players look forward play at their best facing the tuype of competitioin of hteir bottom dwellers.?

but what can be said when nobody else wants to step up pay full time salaries to deserving players like Hagel...and here, with the big, record breaking TV ratings(or at least at Euros), you would think salaries & team budgets would improve.
