I was a big fan of Vialli. He scored twice against us in a 1987 friendly victory over us, 3-1. Diego scored that day.

After us, I have a very soft spot towards almost everything Italian - including Baggio, Del Piero, Zola, Signori…

Visited Italy over the summer 2022 - just wonderful people.

Deschamps extended until June of 2026. I’m actually surprised by this extension. I had forgotten he was also the manager in 2014. So, if he sticks around until 2026, he would the manager for four cycles. Sure, they could flop at the Euros and he could lose his job but I’m not sure if a manager had stuck around for this many terms.

Not recently I think SM but in the past managers of national sides (we're talking about the early twentieth century) used to stick around for many years. Pozzo is an example of the Italian national side.

Benfica are under investigation for match-fixing related to the period between 2016-2020.
Rui Costa, the club's president is one of the individuals involved.

The charges, as revealed by the Portuguese press, relate to the period concerning 2016-2020 and have embroiled all of the club's board members from that period and thereafter.

It comes just a year-and-a-half after Benfica's long-time president Luis Filipe Vieira was forced to resign in disgrace having been arrested on charges relating to tax evasion, aggravated fraud, forgery and money laundering.

The investigation is said to stem from prosecutors' access to emails, with the club said accused of benefitting from several fraudulent results in the period concerned in the investigation.

The reports of the club facing an investigation were initially reported in the country's media before Benfica moved to confirm the reports.

lol at the French. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mbappe sandbags it at the euros so can get Deschamps fired, so he can get his precious Zizou.

The year we win the World Cup, and now it appears Napoli will win the Serie A. They are thumping Juve 5-1. Some magic going on.

Not worried about Paredes or Di Maria, but Soule definitely needs to leave.

I feel for ADM, Paredes and Soulé at Juve but two of those are world club winners and one has a bright future ahead of him, so they’ll be okay. But the club? Lol. I’m glad Dybala is not around anymore, where he’d be the whipping boy again. He’s at a club where he is loved by the fans and they could make it to the CL. If they do, he’ll definitely stay. A nice matchup between Roma and Napoli today. And it does look like Napoli will get their title. It is theirs to lose.

There are rumours that PSG want Paredes back from loan, so I'm hoping that is true.

ADM will most very likely leave the club in the summer.

For Soule, if there is a exodus of players leaving because Juve have not reached the CL, hopefully this will give Soule more playing time next season.

Totally agree with you on Dybala, think Roma has a good chance to make the CL next season.

Seriously, given their mafia history, at this point Juventus should have been punished harder than just a point deduction. Should be relegated to serie B.

I'm not on the mbappe hate train, he's a very good player. This is terrible for Messi's because a good cohesion with mbappe is a better chance for team to win the UCL. I want a healthy mbappe to win with messi, so Messi can get another UCL.

Now Neymar, Ramos and Mbappe are injured.

Maybe Messi will show how awesome he is and win the games on his own and silence those annoying PSG fans.

It would be great. But I just don’t know if FIFA will have three straight world cups outside of Europe. 2026 should’ve been Europe, 2030 in SA and 2034 back in NA.

I totally forgot Vietto was playing in the Arab world. His side is currently up 1-0 v Flamengo in the CWC.
