29' we're on a fast break when the ref blows his whistle b/c Haaland goes down with a head injury. What are the chances he's really hurt? That rule is one of the biggest cheat exploits in today's game. Just hold your head when you get knocked and you can get play stopped.

Edit: To give him credit, Erling does seem a little fuzzy, shaken up by that hit.

33' Trossard again! This time marauds down the wing and puts in hard cross to Eddie who makes contact but hits it wide of goal. It's coming????

We seem to be getting the rub of the green from Paul Tierney tonight. Long may that last!

37' Tierney WTF. Was that a shot or a cross? It flew the full width of the field... to the far corner flag... in the air!!!

Jon Champion is decidely unchatty tonight, compared to his usual. Kind of refreshing.

    Holding is struggling.

42' Holding gets a yellow for an intentional foul on Haaland. I could see Saliba coming in during 2T, and not only because of Rob's card trouble.

    HT 0-0

We more than held our own. Forced their keeper into at least 2 saves (where as I can't recall Tuner having a save to make)

Trossard has been at the heart of nearly everything good and dangerous we've done on attack.

Given the caliber of the opponent, we may regret not being a goal up at the break.

p.s. Gettin on the bike for 2T so enjoy the relative radio silence from me. ;) @Deep Wilcox can probably keep my posts going since we seemed to be channeling the same exact thoughts! Even if using a different amount of words and color.

Good half other than the Holding yellow.

I hope we score, but more than that, I hope someone scores.

I still have Hulu on pause due to bill issues but I AM keeping up here and on the Arsenal app. Matt Turner, as I expected, is shutting the door on City so far, maybe we can earn a replay even though I'd rather have the win but a scoreless draw and a return R4 trip to The Emirates would be just as comforting knowing we have not done well at The Etihad in most recent history.

Looks like Lokonga is coming on for Partey.

Perhaps this is his last chance to prove whether he can make it here...

Edit - and Saliba on for Holding as well

Vieira is so weak, he doesn't even try to back up the player in possession. He ran away from Saka at one point when he was 1v2 on the right who ultimately lost the ball.

I love Tierney but the more Arteta gets his game plan set the less he fits into the side.

It’s not on Hulu it’s on ESPN plus. And I don’t think either team wants a replay. Settle it tonight one way or the other!

Agreed. Vieira has been practically invisible. 45 minutes to turn that around Fabio!

The quality dropoff from Partey to Lokonga is outrageous.

I know it's on ESPN+, but, I have it as an add-on along with my Hulu + Live TV package so because I have it on pause I can't watch it.

Our title challenge will come down to how good of a backup we get for him over the next few days. If we can't get anyone, we won't win it.

....and don't get me wrong, I TOO, want the win just as much as all of you and I'm sure Mikel and the boys do, But at least we continue to push the envelope, penetrate the final third.

Mahrez comes off without ever really hurting us today. That’s some thing.
