I don't believe all of that but in reality both sides are the problem.

 

Most of this is hogwash.

It's common knowledge that Carlo would rather use Mariano, Vallejo, Ordiozola, Hazard before giving a decent chance to the Castilla.

 

From the media circus around the club it seems like everyone at high levels in the club is in “cover your ass” mode, which is never a good sign.

A few good results will change all that.

 

We're not even in the make or break it part of the season and people have lost their minds. That said I do worry about the CA mid season slump, he seems to lose the motivation of his squads about this time pretty consistently.

 

The ugly truth here is that we need to spend some money on some players. Problem is the market is so distorted, even if we spent a ton, it may not improve the squad dramatically.

I think this summer will be a quiet one, where we add 1 player and renew a bunch (Asensio, Modric, Kroos, Benz, Nacho, Ceballos).

I think summer of 2024 when the stadium has 1 year of revenue behind it, Hazard is off the books, ( Benz, Modric and Kroos retire) and Mbappe/Haaland and whomever will be in play could see us going big on one of them.

 

I think club is hoping for Bellingham this summer and Mbappe in 2024. Midfield would be complete if we add Bellingham to Camavinga, Tchouameni and Fede. Renew Ceballos for a role similar to what Kovacic had with KCM and Isco.

I don't think Haaland will leave City after just 2 seasons. But Mbappe has also broken RM's plans twice though I feel he will leave PSG in 2024. And there will be tempting offers from oil clubs in PL and we know money is the main deciding factor for the whole family.

If we get Bellingham and Mbappe in next two summers which will cost a ton, other reinforcements could be internal like Fran Garcia, Miguel and Vinicius Tobias. Plus Endrick who will join in 2024. Tchouameni and Camavinga only wanted RM move, but no clarity on what Bellingham wants at least right now.

 

Man stop.

The club ain't hoping on Mbappe bevause the club can't even realistically afford him.

The club (Florentino) is hoping to squeeze every ounce out of Benzema then is praying Endrick comes here ready to make an impact. If he isn't then he is banking on Vini and Rodrygo holding the fort down till Endrick can.

 

Mbappe would have made close to half a billion by staying 2 more seasons with PSG. Don't think even City would offer him close to those crazy figures.

So he will have to "settle" for around 40 ME nett in wages and 150 ME signing bonus if he leaves PSG in 2024. I hope he has some sporting ambition and takes such a deal to leave Ligue 1.
