He did? I hadn't been watching the games, but looked at his stats. I really thought he had scored only a couple goals in the 12 months +/- leading to the WC.
He already had better skills with the ball as a tyke than anyone on the USMNT The day when a little boy from Rosario stunned the world by his unreal footballing abilities. A pure God gifted player. The beginning of GOAT Lionel Messi's story.🇦🇷🐐Watch and enjoy! pic.twitter.com/sh5Vn7v1Oh— Messiologist (@breathMessi23) January 7, 2023
Forget coaching. Can he still play? Zinedine Zidane rejected an approach to become USMNT head coach, sources have told @LaurensJulien 👀 pic.twitter.com/Lavqir3HJz— ESPN FC (@ESPNFC) January 8, 2023
Legend has it that when Beckham showed up in Madrid, Zidane walked up to him and asked him... what it was like to play with Paul Scholes
Good question. The dork who runs the FFF dissed him so maybe he'll consider. Seems would rather coach a club than a national team. WHAT HAPPENED? The head of the French Football Federation has claimed that he never spoke to Les Bleus icon Zidane about becoming national team coach on the back of a runners-up finish at the 2022 World Cup, while also stating that he would have snubbed any attempts from the former Ballon d’Or winner to enter into talks. Le Graet told RMC Sport: “Zinedine Zidane in Brazil? I don't care, he can go where he wants! Did Zidane tried to reach me? Certainly not, I wouldn't even have picked up the phone anyway. I've never met him, we never considered parting with Didier [Deschamps].” https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/lac...-row-france-snub-le-graet/bltd2f552bd975422b0

JabberJaw out in Austin Claudio Reyna, the former U.S. men's national team captain who is at the center of a scandal involving his wife, his son Gio and USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter, is out as sporting director of Austin FC. The MLS club announced Thursday that Reyna was "stepping down" and "transitioning" into a "technical advisor role." https://sports.yahoo.com/claudio-reyna-austin-fc-usmnt-gio-berhalter-215344438.html
It may be the last thing left in the ongoing USMNT saga nobody wants - As The Ball Turns. That and a mystery evil twin who shows up and hires Klinsmann again.
As a GM-type role involved in recruiting, I actually wouldn't mind Klinsmann. I thought he did good work, specifically as a recruiter. But as for coach, well, let's just say that I, as a recovered former fire fan, would rather have Dave Sarachan than Klinsmann in that role. Or maybe legendary fire coach Clint Mathis.
Nope--her sweet spot was after he cut the hair and shaved, but before he become the endlessly bloviating pundit he is today. About the only thing he's still got going for him is that he's tall.
