Nach dem Sieg bei der Wahl zum Frauen-Tor des Jahres habt ihr @alexpopp11 nun auch zu eurer Nationalspielerin des Jahres 2022 gewählt! 😍💪Absolut verdient, "Poppi"! 👏Zum Ergebnis des Votings 👉 https://t.co/L7aKUSYxuvWIR #IMTEAM 🇩🇪 #Popp @DFB_Frauen📷 Getty Images pic.twitter.com/RPVvz6byEk— DFB_Fanclub (@DFB_Fanclub) January 19, 2023 Alex Popp voted by the fans as the wnt's player of the year 2022, with her 1st goal Vs France during the Euro semi final being voted goal of the year too. Personally... I think Magull, or Huth, actually the wnt's best performers over the entire duration of the year..., but can 100% understand why a single super impressive month of tournament football enough for Popp to win the fan vote.
1:1 Vs Spain (Friendly) 0:1 Vs Canada (Friendly) 3:1 Vs England (Friendly) 3:2 Vs Serbia (WC Qualifier) It's hard to believe these 4 low quality performances would happen in the same year Germany would almost win a Euro, beat the US (on US soil) for the first time in since 2003, and see a 30yo Popp finally confirm herself on the international stage as a genuine world class forward... crazy lol...
doesn’t look like Dallmann & Anyomi leaving the team anytime soon, lol. Wonder why just one game scheduled during this break cycle when majority of the NT’s are taking part in 3 game tournaments?
.... I just realized the DFB has already announced this friendly match in December. But I'd still say... This image clearly created using a very straight forward cut and paste process, where criteria of players featured probably only depended on them wearing the most recent home jersey (Vs USA). Believing these advertisements somehow an indication of MVT's future plans, likely to be a major error lol...
Hold up.... when I questioned the DFB/MVT's poor organization and suspect use of friendlies, I'm sure you tried to use this to attack various following opinions I would make on other subjects lol...
DFB has selected these women for the promotion of the game because of their local reference to Duisburg. MVT is born in Duisburg and has also played and coached there. Dallmann was born in Dinslaken (close to Duisburg) and has played in youth for Duisburg. Popp has played in Duisburg and Anyomi was born in Krefeld and has played in Essen (both close to Duisburg). This is no guarantee that these players will be in the squad for the Sweden game. Lena Goeßling was used to promote the game against France in her birthplace Bielefeld and you might remember what Steffi Jones did.
Almuth Schult is pregnant and will miss the World Cup. Tufekovic or Johannes as third goalkeeper? (Grohs?, Leitzig) Almuth Schult erwartet Nachwuchs! 🥰Herzlichen Glückwunsch, liebe Almuth! Yes lol.... which is the main reason why I didn't feel like she'd make Germany's WC squad, as her poor performance in the 2nd match, alongside her increasing lack of match time at club level, just didn't correlate with her maintaining a role on the national team anymore. Just being honest. Schult was no longer the legitimate #2, and Germany has a few more younger GK options who'd make better use of the development opportunities as a 3rd choice option.during a WC
a note; FIFA has now made it official; only 23 roster for the upcoming World Cup(MVT was the one coach that I knew wanted it to be expanded)
MVT's arguments never really made sense to me, but most fans of women's football seemed to think it only fair because the men's WC allowed expanded squads, without ever considering a major factor behind this decision from FIFA, based around the competitions unique timing within the European club season.... Personally, I still feel MVT mainly arguing for a larger WWC squad, to simply allow her the luxury of keeping passengers like Dallmann, Anyomi, Kleinherne, because their personalities are good for the group. But when her job requires she be ruthless in selecting a balanced squad, featuring players who deliver when needed, it clear Germany's player options robust now, but not robust enough to handle decisions being based on friendships, and not footballing reasoning...
Leonie Maier retired from the national team. Her last game was in October 2021 against Israel. Sad what happened to her career her decline was really painful to watch. Could’ve been the female Lahm of the women’s game
Inga Grinks been named head coach of the Swiss National Team. First order of business was to bring back who’s been commonly known as the ‘hottest bod’ in woso; Alysha Lehman(apparently the dour faced former coach didn’t think much of her) when was the match vs Japan? The only one I remember was the 2014 Algarve Cup final and there could only been like an hundred people in the stands
Anyomi’s in the midfield at least, but Krumbiegel finds herself in the defense lol The question is whether any of these should be in the NT in the first place…
Unser Kader für das anstehende Trainingslager in Marbella und das Länderspiel gegen Schweden in Duisburg am 21. Februar 👇Erstmals dabei: Ena Mahmutovic 👏WIR #IMTEAM 🇩🇪 #GERSWE pic.twitter.com/qu5qb3x05m— DFB-Frauen (@DFB_Frauen) February 7, 2023 Ena Mahmutovic because the game is in Duisburg? Duisburg`s last results 0:6 and 0:7!
my impressions; I’m surprised Marozsan didn’t make guess Batfink’s umpteenth rants on why on earth Anyomi & Krumbiegel got selected, be like ‘grima’ in the chalkboard! If it was an 3 game set like in Algarve or Arnold Cup, then I do feel MVT would of selected Endermann, but then she would of been forced to play FB or CB or DM, lol (Under the watchful eye of MVT) Rall screwed up vs Tigres/Minge forced out of position vs WOB is why they probably didn’t get picked
At her best, a genuinely impressive FB for the wnt. It was always unfortunate she was one of the few players that would never return from her ALC tear being the same player she was previously.... And being a player able to strike the ball with impressive power and accuracy using both feet, I think the biggest compliment I can give her as a defender, is honestly believing Maier the scorer of some of the wnt's most impressive goals...
