See you made the mistake of turning off when you should see this graphic from Tifo IRL as for why you shouldn't have... Score early with high energy, lull in the middle of the game, come home very strong. We score early. We score late. We are never out of games. Its why Newcastle were shitting themselves and time wasting like bastards in the last 20 minutes of our match against them. They knew odds of a late winner were high. Shame the refs didn't card them for blatant time wasting.
Get well soon @D_DeGea. Prayers for you right now pic.twitter.com/G2CtDQ60yL— Renato (@rehnato) January 22, 2023
He forgot the rule is if you time waste too much the football gods get shitty and the chances of letting in a 90th minute winner increases by 400%.
What on earth possessed you man???? You missed one of the most exciting moments in Arsenal history, at least in the last 5-10 years.
Manchester City won the league from here in 2018/19.And that was against a UCL winning Liverpool side. pic.twitter.com/qQPgUnLln0— Miraz (@MirazAFC) January 23, 2023
Gonna be a surprise when we lose the league but win the Champions League this season since we aren't in the comp. Might even be more impressive
Yeah I'd heard that. That was the year City pipped Pool by one point, 98 to 97. Nobody else was remotely close. 2019 was the first of 2 fantastic years by Klopp's team... they got 99 pts the following year. The remaining question is whether Arsenal and City have the quality, focus and staying power to be as strong as those teams from 2018-2020? And perhaps how much City's final outcome will depend on Haaland staying fit and firing?
I would hope that Pep's City is on the downturn now. They've been too good for too long. Klopp's Liverpool is already declining. Given our team's age profile, we should be able to compete for at least the next couple of years, depending on how well we transition from Xhaka and Partey, when necessary.
Don't worry I DID see it on NBC's YouTube channel, and I think we may have gotten away with one there, thank goodness Nketiah got the touch on it otherwise Trossard would've been called offside, but then God (and Anthony Taylor) were on OUR side of this one!!!
i think Willian is what finally broke my fandom - even more than the Ozil fiasco how could you sign such a rubbish player on a retirement deal?
Yeah but he seems quite a bit less rubbish since he left us, e.g. Fulham this week? Obviously he was a terrible signing for us, but perhaps mostly because he and Mikel just couldn’t work together. And Willian seemed to all but down tools.
I'm glad he went and won the league Forcing him to stay and waste his peak on late phase Wumger would have been a travesty
These shots are fun if you haven't seen them... https://www.arsenal.com/news/40-epic-photos-our-last-gasp-win-over-man-utd Edit: And then there's always the benchcam... I dare you to watch this without a smile on your face or a tear in your eye... https://www.arsenal.com/news/relive-late-drama-and-celebrations-bench-cam
He really only had one of late stage peak year at United and I’ll always wonder what would have happened if we took his 26 league goals away from United and gave them back to Arsenal, United certainly wouldn’t have won the league and the 26 goals might have been enough for Arsenal to catch City in second place. That was the year Wenger brought Santi in to play on the left wing and Santi responded with double digit goals and assists. It would have been interesting to see the two play together.
