If we could get him in the Summer for less than 15-20 to replace Elneny I guess that would be okay.

We need a midfielder to really see out this title challenge, because we can't count on not losing Partey or Xhaka over the next 19 games, but trash like McKennie is not the answer.

There's your MF option. Throughout his career he has played DM, CM & AM and most definitely fits the age profile.

Tough to gauge his abilities, tho, because the whole of Everton have been crap. Is he a jewel in a trash heap, or just a shinier piece of rubbish?

there is no real point buying someone who is not better than lokonga or ninny. I’d rate both as below average epl midfielders.

I like McKennie a lot for what he is, but technically astute is not that. We have a lot of intricate passing and McKennie's first touch and passing ability aren't very good. Great in the air, but that's not really a quality we need.

He's a better player overall than Lokonga and Elneny, but he wouldn't be playing their role, so that's not all that relevant.

Some folks here pretty much hate all American players. Not that I think McKennie is a good fit for Arsenal. But calling him trash is the usual wind up comment you will hear about Yanks by some folks here.

But I also realize the obvious fact that it is unlikely that we will get a high quality DM/HM in the winter window that means we focus on less expensive, lower quality players. It's possible that McKinnie is one of the best AVAILABLE options.

What role do you think he would be playing at Arsenal?

Yeah, I'll echo the sentiment that if we're going for another Yank, I'd prefer we tried to lure Musah to return to his roots.

Musah as a potential 8 would be fine

mckennie is not good enough. We do t need runners we need technically excellent players who can slot in tactically

Romano says Kiwior is on £3m gross a year, which would be £55-60k a week.

I had heard Trossard is on roughly £90k a week.

You just gotta let it go. I was talking to someone earlier today who doesn't rate Zinchenko. I'm not going to waste my time convincing him of anything.

Honestly, having a couple runners on deck wouldn’t be the worst thing. Right now we have none—our backup 8s are all bantamweights

    Seems like some agent jargon

McKennie is not an Arteta type of CM.

I think I underrated him based on his time at City because I don't follow them closely, and that we signed him to play 50/50 game time with Tierney.

Didn't expect him to displace Tierney, and be an absolute key player in our title push. No way could you have expected this output.
I loved that when we signed Jesus and Zinny everyone said we were taking City scraps when they are still elite players.

I assume McKenzie’s name has popped up is for the same reason Vlahovic’s name has popped up, Juventus have been assessed a points deduction for financial irregularities and there is speculation they may be forced into a fire sale. I don’t think it’s clear that they will need to sell players, but if their points deduction does prompt some sort of fire sale, i want the midfielder Arteta was chasing two years ago, his technical skill would be a perfect fit for Arsenal.

I think they will wait for Rice who would be a genuine part of the rotation with Xhaka/Partey

In Lakonga and Elneny you already have two serviceable, but below average players - why add a 3rd one

Romano says Leeds are in for McKenzie. Arsenal are said to be monitoring Caicedo's situation with Chelsea.

McKenzie to Leeds would make sense with Adams & Marsh there.
