19 year old defender Breyner Maradiaga is going to Serbia to trial for three teams two of which are in 1st Division and one in 2nd Division. https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/bre...duras-para-hacer-pruebas-en-europa-OD11653683
Update on Yeison Mejia: it’s a trial with SKC and not a guaranteed contract, it will most likely be a loan if he can convince the coaches to stay.
Report: Alexy Vega of Victoria could go on trail with Charlotte FC of the MLS in the coming weeks, reportly Minnesota United where fellow Hondurans Kervin Arriaga and Joseph Rosales play are also interested in him. It also looks like Yeison Mejia will have the entire pre-season to convince coaches at Sporting SKC. https://www.diez.hn/liganacionaldeh...prueba-mls-charlotte-motagua-cerca-FB11670063 I wonder if Kervin and Josephs level of play at Minnesota has convinced MLS to look at Honduras again, it's been a long time since we have sent players to go trial with 1st division teams.
Jack Jean Baptiste to Olimpia is a move that I really like, Motagua are so stupid for tossing a player like him aside. Hope that he does well as he is a player that I can see getting interest abroad.
Alberth Elis rumoured to Montpellier, if true, I would be happy with that move. Staying in the French League wouldn't be disastrous - especially at a club where he'd get a lot of game time. Things seem to finally be picking up for Jona Rubio, his side are currently in a playoff spot in the league, semifinals in the league cup and in the quarterfinal of the Portuguese cup. He's currently on 4 goals across all competitions, 7 assists.
Montpellier aren’t doing so hot right now though, while I still think that they won’t get relegated but they will still near the bottom of the table.
Update on Edwin Rodriguez is that he will stay with Aris to the end of the season. He is frustrated with his situation of not getting the opportunity to play and called Olimpia to bring him back to Honduras and cancel the loan, the administration and Pedro Troglio calmed him down and told him to respect the loan contract.
I think the club is owned by the Hungary's national petrol company so I'm guessing they have some coin and the pay was better. The Hungarian league will have improved from what it was, if you look at how their national team has and maybe this move increases his chances of playing in a European competition.
John Denis a 24 year midfielder is training with NYFC 1st team during preseason at the behest of the Head Coach. https://www.diez.hn/legionarios/joh...ena-new-york-city-mls-pretemporada-CO11793643 He is American born with a Uruguayan father and Honduran mother, last season with NYFC2 in the MLS Next Pro League he made 18 appearances with 15 goals scored. Hopefully he gets a real chance.

The U20 Squad is interesting, hopefully Valerio turns out to be a real pro since he plays a position that we need on the NT. They need to call up Leonardo García and Isaac Espinal to the squad.
This is a big call but in the next 10 years the Honduran diaspora, especially those from the US, might be the difference between us and other Central American nations like Panama and Costa Rica. ES and Guate should benefit too but with the physicality we have, it should give us the overall edge.
It doesn’t mean anything if Fenafuth doesn’t recruit the talent, a bunch of triple nationals in MLS academies/b teams were called up to the El Salvador U20. https://www.diez.hn/laseleccion/sel...dos-el-salvador-campeonato-concacaf-DB6113612
Very true, it seems nuts to me that the ones who aren't been taken in by the American setup aren't being poached. A large part of ES full national team is made up of USL players now, as well.
El Salvador have no choice because they aren’t exporting talent like we are, Hugo Perez is scouting talent to see if he can fine some gold.
Gold Cup is this year so yeah, there are rumors of a friendly in the States before the final game vs Canada in Concacaf League.
