Also, Mikel's sub game this year has been amazing. I know we have better options or players he trusts off the bench but he makes those changes quickly and convincingly. This has won us games.

I was replying to you. You had 3 posts about how important experience is. My opinion is that most people wildly overvalue experience and Arsenal sitting atop the table right now is the perfect example of why experience doesn't matter.

Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine. If Arsenal had dropped points today, I feel like fans and pundits would be blaming the youth of the squad.

It was good to see Trossard come on when he did and play a part in a big game like today.

    Welcome to the party kid!

Yes we were a bit ragged, sloppy & misfiring in 1T. BUT most of the time we were playing at pace and trying quite a lot in the opponent's half. Honestly I'd rather we play that way than careful, high-success-rate horseshoe passing.

But one thing that did scare me was when some of these "mistakes" happened in our own half, e.g. Partey's role in Rashford's goal. But honestly I don't think there were too many of those. The vast majority of missed passes I can remember were in United's half or final third.

Although United looked dangerous at times, we were the better more dominant team throughout I thought. Just like the reverse fixture, which they won. So this match also exemplifies how the margins are fine for getting 3pts vs 1pt vs 0pts. Eddie secured all 3pts in the 90th minute! Onside by only a few inches. And quite dramatically changing our view and feeling for this match.

It took me a little while but I figured this out. And a rewatch. ;)

Of course it wasn't gooners singing RVP which would've been strange indeed. But it was the away supporters singing it, shortly after they equalized, and rubbing it in how they took him from us and went on to win the league.

Note: Our fans countered with a bit of 49-49-undefeated, although it wasn't the strongest rendition I've ever heard. But in the end our players countered with the ultimate answer... the game winning goal, which put us 11pts clear of them, with a game in hand. :D

    One other post-facto reflection...

Thank you to Anthony Taylor for showing restraint in general. The first significant example of this was early in 1T when Gabriel M was getting into intensely with Bruno. Taylor pulled him aside, had a little talk. Perfectly handled, no need to make a harsh disciplinary example, even if it wasn't really completely yellow-worthy.

In the end he issued 2 cards to them, and 1 card to us... much lower than his averages.

Also kudos to Granit Xhaka. He had really good match, both halves, both ends. But also he had at least 2 moments in their box when he was "roughed up" a bit, and neither time did he go down to try to earn a PK. And in one case, he got right up on his feet grabbed the hand of the opponent (Martinez?) who just tussled with him, and warmly pulled him to his feet. Good old fashioned sportsmanship that is a bit too rare these days.

Just watching the replay on Peacock, as I missed the live telecast, Eddie Nketiah has REALLY stepped it up since getting the start in place of Gabriel Jesus, that equalizer he scored was brilliant, we haven't missed a beat despite losing our Brazilian superstar to injury during the World Cup, although I already the result I'm still enjoying one of the many reasons why I have a Roku box.... on demand anything pretty much!!!

I wasn’t super stoked about the the signing, but Trossard is seriously skilled. He’s going to be huge between now and May.

Remember 3 years ago when I said that Bukayo Saka showed me a whole lot of promise during our EL last 32 tie with Olympiakos, sure as hell, the man has come of age!!! How he picked the corner on DeGea while having to thread it between 4 United players in the process is a thing of beauty, as Andy Gray famously said "Oh take a bow son!!! I mean it take a bow!!!"

You mean the time Bruno kicked out at Gabriel after fouling him? Nah, an Arsenal player would’ve been sent off for that.

Yeah, Bruno has the most punchable face in the Prem. But Antony seems determined to say, "hold my beer" in that regard. Or should I say, "hold my cachaça."
