Hard to fault him on the first goal.

Horvath does a poor job on the 2nd goal (cross starts at 6:05). He tried to catch it and failed. The mistake led to the goal (Dike involvement, FYI).

I don't know if he should have dove for the low, bouncing cross on the 3rd one, but I know there's at least one prominent poster who would have blasted Matt Turner if he'd have let that ball come across goal a yard inside the 6 like that. To my eye that's a loser of a situation--if you try to parry that out there's a good likelihood that it rebounds unfavorably, if you try to catch it you'll very likely fail and cough up an easy smash, if you let it go through you get beat at the far post (thanks to your RB falling asleep).

He definitely should have gotten to the low cross on the 3rd. It was very slow moving and went across his path. Tough game.

Yeah, I think so. Without the benefit of a camera angle that shows when he began to come out (and his position prior), it looks like he came out quickly. Dike is just really fast. If Horvath had held up at the edge of the box to use his hands, Dike would have gotten to the ball first. Perhaps that would have been the better decision, but I'm not sure. Those were the two options--anything else and Dike has a great chance to blast it wherever he wants. Whether it was the right decision or not, his CBs did very poorly there (but really good, well-timed run from Dike in the end).

I wouldn't describe that cross as "very slow moving" at all. It was hit hard and bounced low twice. That's a hard ball to deal with--but I tend to agree that, while there were no "good" choices, getting a hand on it would have been better than letting it get all the way across goal.

Eh, obviously we don't have the best angle but on the first either Horvath's initial positioning was poor (he was too close to the goal) or he was slow to react. That's a ball he should be dealing with.

It was slow moving in the sense he had a ton of time to react to it because of how far away it came from. And it wasn't particularly fast moving either.

I'm not going to go out of my way to defend Horvath here. He could have done better on all 3 goals. He could have done worse on two of them. He couldn't have done much worse on the 2nd, though. That was bad.

One shot on goal in the entire first half (by Luton, none by Wigan), in a typical game between Championship teams, with a lot of running and hoofing it.

Both teams scored early in the 2nd but I'm no longer watching, the one fan stream is gone.

98th minute goal for Luton by Adebayo. Quiet for Horvath, but apparently made a good save earlier in stoppage time.

Rumor that Notts F is going for Navas due to Dean Henderson injury - out supposedly 4-6 weeks - fwiw. (Think I saw it in the Athletic, but not 100% sure.)

Today Luton Town (7) host Cardiff City (21), with an opportunity to move up to 3rd place (jointly with Steffen's Middlesbrough, but Luton still with a game in hand).

Won 1-0. Tied on points with Boro. Behind on GD... (because Steffen's the better keeper... laughs, ducks, runs, hides.)
