If Tyler goes to a Big Club, he has to be sure that he’ll be a regular starter. Hopefully, Tyler learned from the Pulisic example…

Pulisic was a regular starter when he went to Chelsea and wasn't injured. All of his starts came in bursts when he was healthy, and then he'd pick up some kind of muscle injury and be at 60% for weeks.

My comment was more focused on Pulisic not getting regular starts when he HAS been healthy (tail end of Tuchel and current Potter regime).

Sure, but that's 3 years after signing. That's a development problem, not a choice-of-club problem.

One thing for sure...Jesse needs to be looking for a TA replacement or relegation will become a quick reality.

Can you elaborate on your thinking here?

TA ain’t leaving his contract runs through 2027. Leeds will slowly move up the pecking order, it’s not a bad spot to be at to build a great career.

It's that moving up part that they are struggling with. Now Bamford is out. They need serious help on the back line and at striker. I love Jesse, and he seems to be good at game planning vs the big boys; but he is definitely still learning the ropes (at least as far as substitutions go). And their owners don't seem inclined to spend as much as Leeds needs to get the players that will help them move up. They keep getting interested in the same players the big clubs want, and they never win those battles. If they don't make at least two big acquisitions in January they are going to struggle to stay up. And in a related matter, I am no longer proud of seeing stats showing that our guys run more than everyone else. That is not sustainable (physically), and increasingly looks like a lack of depth (or willingness to use it). I really, really, really want Leeds to do well. But their situation looks very precarious to me.

Their xGD is 9th in the league. They aren't going down unless things go catastrophically wrong.

I'm assuming there will be some substantial interest in Adams from teams much stronger and richer than Leeds. He may have a contract until 2027, but you know that means little these days. No big team with funds burning holes in its pockets will want to wait until that contract has expired if they think he would be a good fit now or soon. Marsch will need an instant replacement.

Without a midseason World Cup in which to show off to the world, and instead just another month of solid steady play, I wonder if he still wins it

A bit weird to have a vote for player of the calendar year, no?

Most clubs do it for the season but Leeds and a handful of others do it for the year.

It's like a little Oscars ceremony, with six awards or so: Players' Player of the Year, Women's Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, the Bobby Collins Award for a member of the staff, etc.

I'm not sure but I don't think this was Leeds' official Player of the Year award. It looks like they do that in the summer like most clubs. I think this was the year end award from LeedsLive, which appears to be the most prominent news outlet covering Leeds United.

Suspended because of the red card he received in the game before the World Cup break in November.

Yep, picked up 2 yellows (not a straight red for violent conduct). So, only 1 game ban.

Anything you can pick off a title challenger is a huge bonus. It's not expected.

I think Leeds were unlucky the Queens passing rescheduled games against NF and ManU (when they were quite poor).

Fortunately, Leeds still have two fixtures against NF to look forward to. Those are the really significant fixtures.

If they can get anything against Newcastle that would be nice but they have a big game coming up Jan 4. at home against WHUFC.

Posted this one in the PBP by mistake. Should be here (and/or in Aaronson's thread):

Andrea Radrizzani, Leeds majority owner, hints of a sale:

    https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...with-admission-on-investment-and-fans-3966999

“Yes, perhaps Leeds can grow further, but in the future they will need more resources to be able to reach higher levels and compete with the best clubs in the Premier League. As a result, I believe that, due to the history of the club and the respect I have for their fans, it is right to let those who can invest more than me go forward, and bring them to the glory of the past.

“There is also a design aspect: this is my sixth year, change is healthy. The football part: we are happy with Leeds, however we are evaluating other investments and the potential exit will be in 2024 together with the San Francisco 49ers, then we will consider strategic partnerships or IPOs, always with the aim of being the global digital destination for sports fans.”

Adams will go to Man. United, probably in summer after securing Leeds United in the EPL.
