Missing it for your country in a World Cup where everyone expected your team to win is a massive scar on one's psyche. I don't think it can compare to missing in random games. I don't think it'll scar him completely as he is still very young but this will weigh heavy on his mind for a long time.
England vs Argentina is a classic final match up. I wouldn't mind it at all. Worth going to a British establishment here to watch it in full atmosphere.
We'll hook him up with a couple of blondes as soon as he comes back, slap that stupid hairdo off his head and keep moving.
All jokes aside, I do hope he uses this suffering to fuel his emergence in our XI this next half of the season.
🤬 Messi apparently towards the Dutch camp, "What are you looking at you fool.... you look dumb... keep walking fool." We all know the headlines tomorrow if this was Cristiano 😂pic.twitter.com/k0s22dxbPt— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) December 9, 2022 🇳🇱 Weghorst: "I'm very disappointed with Messi. I wanted to shake his hand, but I didn't want to shake his hand. I don't understand much Spanish but I'm sure he's told me something very unpleasant."Wow it was Weghorst whom Messi was mouthing off to. https://t.co/hjOEz5zhgD— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) December 9, 2022
The only thing I'd want my team to do is win the trophy. Again, teams play only for themselves and their country. It's incredible to me that we've gone from the Dutch and the Germans borderline mugging each other to "I wanted to shake his hand and he said no, I am absolutely shattered internally". Be your brothers keeper. Be better. Plus for all the "what about Cristiano??" stuff, when Cristiano did the calma calma in their faces we loved it. When Varane told them to keep talking at Atleti we loved it. I love it. Keep those vibes going for the rest of the world cup please. We like it oldschool
There are already Whatsapp gifs made out of that Messi thing lol what you looking at dummy What you looking at dummy Walk away dummy Walk away I find it funny because Messi is so nonthreatening both in size and in the way he said it. Felt more like elementary kids saying having a spat what a tool
South American football is struggling badly. Our teams don’t even make deep runs anymore and usually end up eliminating each other. Club football in South America is a disaster both quality wise and organizational wise. It’s important to have some international success to stop the bleeding imo it’s not a nationalistic pride thing for me. I think it’s a necessity for South America to win to keep some prestige and obviously some money
The Portugal team from 2004 that Greece alley oop dunked on in the Euro was ages better than the one that eventually ended up winning it. Football doesn't work by names.
The what about Cristiano thing is interesting I don’t think anyone has ever had a complaint about Cristiano being a douche to his opponents… The criticism with Cristiano is the douchebaggery me attitude towards his own team and teammates
Damn. If I were this Weghorst, I would have started a fight perhaps on the field. And then, Messi would get a suspension alongside with me. It was exactly what Argentina did to Germany in 2006.
Messi showing his true colours, arrogant but coward at same time. He spoke in Spanish knowing the guy could not understand what he was saying.
👊🦁 There are very few players in the world with more ability to win defensive duels. As well as making 3.55 tackles, he wins 90.9% of them. pic.twitter.com/xNuFa788zN— Driblab (@driblab) December 10, 2022
Neymar’s time with Brazil has been a major disappointment Other than an Olympics medal won on home turf, the only other international success has been a Copa America also won at home without him. Not that I blame him, Brazil have been underwhelming for the majority of his time there, but still has to be pointed out.
I’m glad It’s Croatia vs Argentina Brazil vs Argentina would have been a shit show, a circus. You thought the antics vs Netherlands were bad, a CONMEBOL match up would have been a tragedy to watch
with a FC like Richarilson as a starter Brazil can’t win WC. Maybe with Endrick in the future it will be changed.
As I’ve said elsewhere I can’t wait for this semifinal. It’s a classic David vs Goliath match. One of the world’s greatest ever playmakers in a team of technically gifted players, versus hardworking but limited underdogs from Argentina.
