Missing it for your country in a World Cup where everyone expected your team to win is a massive scar on one's psyche. I don't think it can compare to missing in random games.

I don't think it'll scar him completely as he is still very young but this will weigh heavy on his mind for a long time.

I find it funny because Messi is so nonthreatening both in size and in the way he said it. Felt more like elementary kids saying having a spat

South American football is struggling badly. Our teams don’t even make deep runs anymore and usually end up eliminating each other. Club football in South America is a disaster both quality wise and organizational wise. It’s important to have some international success to stop the bleeding imo

it’s not a nationalistic pride thing for me. I think it’s a necessity for South America to win to keep some prestige and obviously some money

Neymar’s time with Brazil has been a major disappointment

Other than an Olympics medal won on home turf, the only other international success has been a Copa America also won at home without him.

Not that I blame him, Brazil have been underwhelming for the majority of his time there, but still has to be pointed out.
