I am ok with this line up. No matter what, we must play the semifinal.

There are reports saying that De Paul will play with injections. Really do hope that this will not affect the game and that he does not get injured even more.

I feel some pressure has come off. I think we are going to be even more pumped for this match.

I’m okay with the line-up. It’s very conservative but that’s Scaloni’s way. Brazil play with four attackers and they are out. We’re playing with two attackers and our most offensive midfielder plays as a #5. The important thing is we have quality all over the pitch. Let’s hope we do it. Enjoy the game guys. Vamos.

Tbh it's not as conservative as you may think.. having 3 CBS allows Acuna and Molina to move up more.. so in a way it can be a 3-5-2 at times

    Julian - Messi
Acuna - Mac - Enzo - De Paul - Molina
    Licha - Ota - Cuti
Rodri, Enzo, and Mac moving the ball around and alternating attacks... Acuna and Molina doing runs up the flanks.. Julian and Messi moving freely

It would have been conservative if he used this formation but with Tagliafico, Montiel, and Guido instead.. with these names it's arguably a more offensive team than before

wow extremely nervous as usual, things that can hurt netherlands manager and his tactics who is extremely smart, but hope Scaloni can match it and hope we can pull it off

I am also ok with being conservative. The cup is seldom won by a great attacking side. The best way to win in the cup format is to concede as few goals as possible. If a team does it’s job defensively, you only need to create and convert 1-2 chances. With Messi, even at this age, I always feel that we can create and score atleast a goal.

Excellent post. It pushes Enzo up more and all our best plays come with close proximity in the middle.

Espn stupid analysis: our players are average aside Messi. Have they looked up dutch players?? LMAO the very definition of average rejects.

then they say we never tried 3 in the back aside vs australia where they got the better of us in the second half. Absolute clowns.

One thing I hope Scaloni doesn't bring in 3 extra defenders it will be stupid we need offensive subs and catch them on counter

Van Gaal about Argentina going with the same system as us:

"It shows that Argentina are afraid of us. I think it benefits us. We have been playing this system for a year and it's difficult for a team to suddenly try this system."

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Screw this guy, we need to teach him a lesson how to properly play a back 3

That line up looks super defensive on paper but in reality its most likely resembles 3-5-2 when we're on the ball. Acuna & Molina will push forward as they often does.

Messi needs to be careful not to lose the ball in the midfield.
