You're making sense. Are you feeling alright? :D

Seriously, though - we'll never know if any of those marquee players we've been linked to by the rumor mill even had a chance to turn us down, because I would bet lots of money that almost all, if not all of them, were never even pursued by the stingy Quakes...

Earthquakes in the news!! Admit it, you didn't think such a thing was possible, certainly not before like mid-March...

You’re perceiving that I’m making sense? Move to WI must have done you some good :)

This will be an interesting offseason because I would expect CL to be be trying to make at least one (for us) “splashier” signing, i.e. a DP on the cheap side - our MO. If it’s just going to be an MLS free agent or 2 that would be a disappointment.

I don’t about this one. I think in the end, CL hedges his bets.

Put the positive vibes in the air and manifest Hedges coming to San Jose.

He would be 1000000x an upgrade over Rodrigues and Nathan which means one of those guys gets benched and I'd be even more optimistic.

He's also played for Luchi and captained for him. Ao that may be an extra chip.

I was going there as well. Hedges would immediately be one of the best CBs to grace our roster ever. He would join Agoos and Califf as our 2 best.

It’s about the leadership and settling down the defense. We have to be organized, not just scrambling around frantically with last second slide tackles.

Wow. I just had a strange feeling I haven't experienced much with this organization lately. I think it's called "Hope"?

M.H. would be a great signing!

I always felt that the Jeff Agoos trade was the single most significant move the team did to turn around a weak team. That 2000 squad was really poor and then they won the Cup in 2001. Maybe Leitch understands the significance of having an experienced guy on the back line. We need a true leader wearing the captain’s armband.

I hope y'all are not "counting your chickens". Sounds like there are several teams interested in Hedges.

I was hoping he was a "weather-spoiled" CA kid, but looks more like Indiana. :-(

    No Robinson or Dayak?

I would very happy if Long or Hedges joined the Quakes.

Agoos, Califf, Robinson, Dayak and Goodson are the best ones to ever suit up for us CB wise. Doyle and Bernardez are right behind them.

The rest of our CB crops, some good, some average, a lot of garbage. Especially the bolded guys.

Affolter, Attakora, Burling, Calichman, Cochrane, Cruz, Cummings, Draguicevich, Eastman, Garcia, Gough, Harden, Hernandez, Imperiale, Jungwirth, Martin, Martinez, McDonald, Nathan, Onalfo, Pitchkolan, Renato, Roberts, Rodrigues, Weaver,

Another one not on your list that i had high hope for was Yeferson Quintana, but as per usual for the Quakes he turned out to be another bust.

    My favorites are:

    HOF: Agoos, Robinson, Dayak

    All Stars: Califf and Goodson

Good/Solid: Hernandez, Bernardez, Mauricio Wright (not on your list?)

Doyle - probably good/solid, but my dislike of his approach to soccer is probably giving my blinders.

Out of those guys, to me ERo was the real monster, at his peak - just so athletic, aggressive, and tough. He would stamp out attacks one after another, and I think he had a lot to do with Houston winning 2 consecutive MLS Cups. That said, I missed the heart of the Agoos / Dayak days, as I didn't really become a fan of the team until 2002/3.

Forgot Quintana, he was really solid when he first got here, then yes we wrecked him, and blamed him for our troubles we took the best elements of his game and tried to turn him into something else and limit what he could do. He had a lot of potential.

I actually agree with you. Agoos and Dayak were the reason we finally had a stable backline, and Agoos is the reason the Quakes and Dynamo had a amazing run from 2001-2014. Robinson, Ching, Davis, De Rosario and Waibel were the best players they had in 2006-2007 for their 2 cups. I dream about what could have been if we won 05, 06 and 07.

It cut off half my damn list when I was typing cut out Amaya, Wright, Ockford, Kashia, Alanis, Beason, Walls, the last row of people.

I hope Walls replaces Beason, Nathan and Rodrigues too.

No love for Jimmy? He was excellent...Defender of the year in 2005

Robinson was also stellar...so steady, brains and grit.
