https://n.news.naver.com/sports/qatar2022/article/003/0011576804 ok nvm. Bento wont sign a new contract. It was already decided in September. I hope KFA already started looking already if that is true. But KFA is KFA... Won't be surprised if they hire a temporary manager for the Asian Cup and then replace him w/ a new one to prepare for the WC.... Also, not sure if you guys saw HIB's interview. He admitted Japan is developing fast + performed better because players are playing in a much better environment even though we made the same accomplishment.
I caught some of this post-game. He also mentioned, I think, more European playing players on the J-team which is helping their development. I've heard K-League isn't accommodating in helping players move along to Europe? Someone more in tune with K-League and their business can correct me but I think I read that somewhere.
Yea Japan has a lot of sponsorships/partnerships with the European teams. So young players can easily transfer with almost no fees.
I don't know whether they are still doing it but Japan had no transfer fee policy for a while so that more of their players could go to Europe. I have heard a lot of complaints about Korean clubs being too tough, trying to get as much money as possible with very little concern for the player's future. I am not going to criticize them morally; they are after all commercial enterprises. But they should not whine about the sacrifices they make. Compared with other Asian countries they are not very accommodating to the need of the NT.
The Japanese goal looks offside. Even if one takes FIFA's VAR verdict it was awfully close(the fast moving arm of the Croatian made it onside it claims. I don't buy it) and Japan certainly were very lucky in the WC.
Japan apparently hired him after he embarrassed Korea at WC 2014 thinking he will do the same with Japan. But he lost 1-4 to Korea at East Asian Football Championship or something like that. And then he commented that Korea were an excellent team. That was too much and he was fired. Many think his style particularly suits Korea and he also liked Korea's playing style but defense genius? No.
Morocco played well under him, and that was without the stars he'd fallen out with. SHM seems like a no-fuss guy, HHC as well. Only LKI might cause issues, but I think he'd rather play than b*tch. Koreans are patriotic, and that's what Halilhodžić wants to draw out of players- patriotism and teamwork, while instilling discipline. I think KFA won't go for him, but they should, and should stick with him if he gets results. Which he does get.
I think Korea would have had a real shot against this Swiss side. And Switzerland probably fancied themselves having a better go against SK. Man those Swiss players were such idiots that game with Serbia and not going for the kill, knowing it was the difference between a game against Portugal or Korea. They were so slow and ready to settle for a 3-2 win if had they pressed they could have been 4-2. Serbia was leaky.
Goncalo Ramos gets a hat trick. Portugal are looking like a different team with 한반두 out lmao He truly repaid the debt for the no show
I like Halilhodžić too, and I doubt he'll have any falling-outs with players. For better or worse, Korean players listen well to their managers. Even if LKI doesn't like someone, Son and other senior players will make sure they stay in line
He is one of the oldest members. I thought he lost access to his account and made a new one. It happens sometimes.
but why don't you tell everyone who your og handle was? What's the pt in asking others when you won't come clean yourself?
KFA isnt capable of doing so. Imagine what would've happened if they were competent enough to continue to apply what Hiddink taught us for 20 yrs since 2002. We need to find our style and stick with it regardless of the manager.
