Carvajal is a monster when he can be - rested and no injuries. We’d benefit from a decent option to take minutes off him while they develop, was supposed to be Odriozola but that didn’t pan out.

I'm not going to discuss one way or the other for Carva but please name me the RB whose lunch Mbappe has not eaten

So weird that the one word that you fabricated completely changes the meaning of his quote. Unless there is a mistranslation, this says "best proposal," NOT "best financial proposal." Presumably when a club reaches out to a player, they pitch them on the city, club, culture, sporting project, facilities and yes money. But nowhere in that quote does he say "I will go to the highest bidder and ignore every other factor."

Why else is the kid visiting stadiums (Bernabeu, Camp Nou) and training grounds (Chelsea) if he was just holding a straight up auction? Nonsense.

The profiles of the forwards that succeed in Real Madrid are players that are heavily involved in the build up, can create for himself, and very capable of playing the deep lying forward. The pure goal scorer who relies on service won't succeed here.

You are down bad. Keep saying 2025 when he can join in July 2024. And yea, we gotta pay taxes. What a newsbreak. [emoji23] Gab Jesus became a starter right away. So the truth is neither you nor me can predict such stuff authentically.

Hmmm "Best proposal for me and MY FAMILY". I wonder what type of proposal he was referring to that could sway his family? Valdebebas facilities, theatre, Spanish cuisine, or perhaps the weather? Come on man.

Also, he only visited Chelsea (source)

As soon as we outbid PSG by €12mil, RM suddenly becomes his club of "choice".

    This is too obvious.

There is nothing wrong with outbidding an oil club for a raw talent or for a 16 year-old to prefer the highest bidding club.

Sure he'll join in July 2024, do you expect him to break into the first team immediate? He'll start with Castilla.

UOL is a very reputed newspaper in Brazil. They wouldn't have made up an interview with Endrick's father. I guess someone smart(maybe the agent who also represents Vini) advised him that he's starting to come off like Mbappe's mom with these constant quotes, but while representing a 16 year old kid instead than a superstar like Mbappe.

That's a bad look in Brazil itself let alone in European football media. And he's kept a low profile after that and said he didn't give the interview that irked RM fans.

I respectfully disagree. We don't necessarily need a Benzema-type forward to succeed after Karim retires/leaves.

We can adapt to playing with a true #9.

If Pep's City can do it, anyone can.

You always talk in absolutes and was sure he will join PSG. How ready he will be will depend on his development/scoring record in Brazilian League in next 1.5 years.

Gab Jesus already developed into a good scorer with Palmieras so he adapted right away at City. Vini and Rodrygo weren't consistent game changers in Brazil at 18 so them taking few years to adapt to La Liga and RM was expected.

He was at the Bernabeu last season to meet w/ the club and went to Valdebebas as well.

Reputable outlets make sh!t up all the time.

Regardless, what's wrong with Endrick choosing the highest bidder?

Or is it our need to take the moral high ground and say Player X chose prestige and future prospects over money from other clubs – is that something that makes us feel all fuzzy inside?

Well, Endrick chose all of the above.

I was talking based on the info I had. You make it sound like I was the only one pessimistic on the deal.

    1. PSG was edging closer to the price Palmeiras wanted – short of €2mil

    2. RM said they won't enter into a bidding war (just like the US doesn't negotiate with terrorists).

And then all of the sudden

    3. RM enters the bidding war and outbids PSG (didn't see that one coming based on #2)

I'll let @celito give you his assessment on GJ.

If it was about the money, he'd have gone to PSG. He will get a nice package at RM just like Tchouameni, but nothing like PSG money. Now PSG PR desperate to show they weren't snubbed but backed out due to 2 ME difference in asking price. [emoji23][emoji23] Only thing funnier is Arsenal's 40 ME plus 1 pound bid for Suarez in. 2013.

I remember him scoring in PL right away. He scored 12 goals with Palmieras in 27 games in Brazilian Serie A. Joined City in January and scored 7 in 10 games that season. So there's no rule that a young player can't adapt right away in Europe.

LMAO the need to say that PSG will always offer more money and player don't come to RM for financial reasons.

We just outbid PSG by €14mil and paid €12mil than what Palmeiras wanted for Endrick! I'm pretty sure Endrick got a damn good deal from Flo in terms of wages, bonuses and commissions for his agent/family

Again, what so wrong with outbidding other clubs and players chosing money?

Tchouameni preferred the prestige and sporting project over money.

Endrick preferred the prestige, sporting project AND the money!

Everyone knew RM would pay 60 M. You said PSG could pay 120 ME for Endrick and Estevao together and we'd have no chance. Now trying to sell PSG backed out due to 2 ME? Yea, right. [emoji7] They got snubbed just like Tchouameni and ZZ dunked them. Seems like only Mpaypal solely thinks of money while making career decisions.

Again misinterpreting facts just like you kept saying he can't join until 2025. Palmieras will only get 60 ME. You were so sure that he will snub RM for PSG. You were wrong. Now moving goalposts to 2025, Castilla yada yada.

This is not too difficult to understand, we entered a bidding war with PSG over Endrick and ended up outbidding them by €14mil. €12mil is money Palmeiras will pocket instead of paying them in taxes.

Endrick snubbed PSG because RM payed more, special love my a$$.

Once again, there is nothing wrong with a player choosing money.

Yea. We pay 12 ME tax. Believing PSG backed out due to 60 ME to Palmieras instead of 58 ME. Aka clutching at the straws when you were certain that he won't join.

Lol you're right, because I didn't think we'd outbid PSG and graciously cover the taxes Palmeiras would have paid :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

We had to pay extra tax for Tchouameni and Endrick due to Spanish law. Palmieras wanted 60 ME after tax. If PSG offered 58 ME, they'd have got full 58 ME because additional tax only if he went to Spain.

Seems like the question is how GJ was at Palmeiras before his move ? His breakthrough was in 2016 and was probably the most important player for our league title that year. He won MVP of the league. He did have a drop in form in the last few months though. He also started playing for Brazil in WCQ and hit the ground running in mid 2016.

Meanwhile Vini struggled in his first season, but had decent production in his second season in Brazil. Rodrygo had many quiet games after that hattrick.

Gab Jesus was almost a finished product when he moved to City while Vini and Rodrygo were still figuring out things in Brazilian League itself. Let's see what Endrick's trajectory will be in next 1.5 years.

Why did Xavi go public about Endrick when they couldn't even afford him? Jan seems spot on.
