Per @PSierraR, the San Jose Earthquakes are interested in 19-Year-Old CAM Alexis Manyoma. Manyoma has played in the Columbian League. It is reported that #Quakes74 has the discovery rights for the U-20 Columbian International. Alexis was once on the radar for AC Milan. #MLS pic.twitter.com/OwPX1EFUCU— Favian Renkel (@FavianRenkel) November 30, 2022 Dont know if it is already here but if its not
Hard to tell based on youtube, but looks pretty solid. If true, what happens to Montiero? Moves back to the 8? Cut ties with JY?
My guess is that we’d play him as a wide forward in a 433 setup. Monteiro and Niko in the center together or in some combo, with JY and/or some new dmid. Remember that’s always been the Quakes MO. Play your DP attacker wide (MPG, Vako, Innocent, etc.).
Oh yeah, wouldn't mind a trade for him. Especially if it is for a lot of GAM. Him being a former US International and club/U23NT captain will give him some worth.
I just have it as a rumor right now and since a lot of other lesser-known pages are posting I will believe it when I see the more well-known sources like Bogert or the QE guys who report when it is pretty much confirmed. I view it more as just interest and nothing else but I will believe that we have him on our discovery list because it seems like a realistic signing. We just have to wait and see.
Jamon Moore, one of the Aftershock reporters, also commented on Renkel's post, and said the Quakes and any team would have many players including Manyoma on the discovery lists. Safe to keep this as rumor. AT least we have something to talk about.
In case there's anything to this, the obligatory highlight video... The usual grains of salt, but looks more like a goal scoring CAM vs. the "clever passer who rarely scores" type, as the video features mostly his goals. But then again, highlight videos usually emphasize the goals.
Yes he's the jackass who said Seattle isn't looking to re sign Jordan Morris and the Quakes could be in the cards for him.
Last year I mentioned Matthew Hoppe as someone the Quakes should consider and it turned out they tried to sign him. For this coming season I’m wondering about this guy. Konrad De La Fuente needs a change of scenery and perhaps the Quakes can take him on loan and give him the playing time he needs to develop his game at a higher level. Quakes basically play Barcelona ball anyway, so he should be comfortable in the system right away. He has some big weaknesses to work on, but he is a very creative dribbler that can beat defenders and unbalance teams. My guess? Quakes probably don’t have his discovery rights. Luchi Gonzalez worked with him on the national team so he should know if KDLF is worth pursuing. He does fit the profile of a U-22 DP.
I'm not a fan of his, but you make some valid points. I would defer to Luchi if he thinks that he is worth having on the team.
Konrad is dropping like a hot knife through butter, Barcelona, Marseille, Olympiacos... not really catching on at any as he falls down the rungs of professional soccer (of course he started at the top). Even worse, some of his coaches have commented on his lack of professionalism. Maybe Luchi is the guy to turn his career around... or maybe he keeps dropping until he's in the USL third division.
Per Sources, the San Jose Earthquakes are close to signing Michael Baldisimo. The 22 year old has already followed the #Quakes74 on Instagram. Stay tuned. #MLS #VWFC pic.twitter.com/h04PxnhykZ— Favian Renkel (@FavianRenkel) December 4, 2022 I know who it’s coming from but we need some off-season excitement.
Renkel is an idiot. If he figures you have some inside info he will reach out to you on twitter and ask you side stepped questions to try and piece together shit. He's a fraud.
The Quakes are bringing him in for a trial according to the original article. The wording throws people off.
He's a youngster, he was part of a group of young guys selected by various teams for trials. He will probably be a Quakes II guy if signed.
Yeah, I suspect you are right. Next Pro allows some international slots to be signed and I don’t recall the Quakes were using any of them last season. I do know they had a Salvadoran kid in for a couple of weeks toward the end of the year so they must be contemplating signing foreign youth players to develop. There are likely multiple trials coming up.
