I’m thinking a circular firing squad. ESP on the perimeter with MAR in the middle. Give Spain 1000 passes...I mean bullets. Fitting metaphor for this match.

Yeah, after a boring 90 minutes who needs another guaranteed 30 minutes more. The Japanese were too tired to even take a PK.

If there were no penalties to bring this to an end, this match may be still going when the USA line up to kick off 2026.

Greatest upset in knockout history of the 32-team era. Although Spain really died by suicide.

Gotta say, none of the PKs have been all that great. The three which Morocco scored were all misdirection. Good on them, but savable.

This was the worst I've seen them

I guess spain wanted to be even more boring. It was almost like Italy made it to the finals after all.

Why would Morocco get Gibraltar after beating Spain? Seems a little harsh to the UK to lose their territory.

You probably shouldn't be judging this hemisphere based on the standards of post-Enlightenment European Liberalism.

No Ronaldo in Portugal? Wow. I wonder what is going on there.. He apparently didn't even come out for warm-ups. Either he is injured, or Portugal is playing with fire and trying to beat the Swiss without him. Crazy.

No sooner do I hit Post Reply does Fox show video of Ronaldo coming out with the subs.. Still crazy that he isn't starting, but you have to imagine he'll come out completed pissed off at the 60th minute. Question is, will he be a petulant child and mope about the field angry at his coaches for benching him, or will he come out looking to prove his coaches wrong and unleash hell upon Switzerland.
