  1. I've been posting that for a long time now since van Gaal took over in several threads.

  2. Uhm, where did I post he should be swapped with Klaassen or Janssen? The one who should be on the pitch instead of him isnot even selected, Danjuma and my next preferred choice is Noa Lang.

  3. The first 2 goals werenot by accident almost identical! The Orange players "arranged" the distribution of the US players into the one that made them vulnerable for the swift execution.

  4. Louis van Gaal's mantra for this WC:D

    Football has changed so much.

The reason why African countries underperform is because they play 10 years in the past. The USA also plays outdated football, it looks like an AZ Alkmaar team from the 2010s.

Netherlands became succesful by being progressieve, not by being backwards. We are being progressive again.

    We are honoring our past.

Argentina has run the fewest kilometers of all teams (105), "energy saving" Oranje 6 km more.

  9. Haha, Joe Biden with a class act reaction to Rutte's tweet in which he posts to Mark that it should be "Voetbal":)
I'm not a twitter guy, so can't produce Biden's tweet. Maybe someone in here can? It's nice to have it in here for posteraty.

The point being if Bergwijn is not up top with Memphis or Gakpo then we see Klaassen at 10 or Janssen up top.
Of course Danjuma should be there, and Lang works too but at this point it’s like I broke it down.

Yeah but Messi alone has *walked* at least 50 km in this WC.

Yeah, I was really hoping Australia would equalize so as to take them to extra time and wear them out a little bit more!

Some analysis from Wenger and Klinsmaan:
    https://www.fifa.com/technical/tech.../wenger-and-klinsmann-analyse-the-group-phase

Argentina likes to attack in the centre with Messi, and one thing that worries me is the defending team does not push up enough/evenly after those corner kicks/crosses in are cleared by defending team where the attacking team will beat the offside (or the type of goal like France's first goal vs Poland). Another thing is that I am not sure De Roon will be 100% fit and can handle Messi. If it takes 2 or 3 and team's effort to cover each other then it may leave space for other Argentina players to attack. I do not want to see player like Berghuis in this type of match where he offers not much help defensively. Klaassen in other hand can run and run. I hope we can play compact and disciplined and remains clinical with the chances created/given.
Netherlands attack are also from the wing but also in the middle where Gakpo/Klaassen and others are linked up. I hope we can be better in set piece/corner kick. In Louis we trust?

For the same reason Mazraoui and Ziyech are not. They were not picked and decided to play for Morocco. IIRC, Ziyech came closest to a call up.
