The referees are not protecting him and he's not getting as many calls as he should. Unfortunately him playing into what every non-Madrid thinks he is will only serve to validate their beliefs.
Shocking what players get away with when it's against him. A clearly intentional smack to his head doesn't even get a card, but the day before Fekir gets sent off for an accidental touch to the Sevilla defender face. VJ however has been underwhelming for a couple of months now, and he gets too caught up with his games with defenders, fans, and refs. Whatever pressure opposition puts on him is working, he looks like he needs a Benzema next to him to draw away pressure and for some leadership.
🗣 Ancelotti to Vinicius: “Stop it, it’s enough. Play football and ignore it.” pic.twitter.com/hUZOZdDyr9— Madrid Xtra (@MadridXtra) November 8, 2022 Smack to head happened afterwards. It should have been carded. This incident was before that where Vj had committed a cynical foul and still went on bickering about it to the ref
Being fair, the league treated Neymar the exact same way when he was at Barca. The similarities are there.
Hazard was treated similarly in PL by refs Mourinho used to cry about need to protect such gifted players after every match. Nothing changes, defenders keep on fouling/instigating the player for the lack of any cards and eventually those injuries catch up with you.
Cynical foul! Wow. In my opinion it wasn’t even worth a card let alone a dismissal which some of our own fans in the game thread were suggesting. He needs to be protected, the foul stats are there for all to see. He is getting the neymar treatment on and off the pitch and it’s 1000% on the club to protect him.
Brazil's Vinícius Jr. (22) has hired a team of lawyers to break his sponsorship contract with Nike after being given old boots to wear.https://t.co/hGmthuiRHO— Get Italian Football News (@_GIFN) December 4, 2022
Nike excluded him that big World Cup commercial. Nike's ad for Brazil's campaign World Cup featured Rodrygo, not him.
Don’t know if that’s sufficient enough a reason to severe the ties. It’s not like he’s not being paid by Nike and it’s also not like he’s as big a figure like Neymar yet so they would consider him making the “main man” for their advertising campaign…
Why would Nike exclude one of its athletes? I mean, he is a starting attacking player for the favorite team
It's not about the money though, if I'm endorsing a company and they are giving me an inferior product, I'd make a move as well. Kroos basically has the opposite problem, any shoe they send him he tosses in the bin, so they keep making a handful of pairs of an old model just for him.
You would think marketing a star Real Madrid player would be a top priority as opposed to ignoring him and handing him last seasons boots at a stage as big as the world cup. He's not even asking for his boot line he's just asking to be given the latest new shoes.
The article said that he was "excluded from some of the company's advertising events". I think it meant the commercials. I don't think he cares about some PR events at a 6 star hotel in Doha. It is about recognition to be in it. Those commercials are as big as the World Cup itself. They brought back R9 and Ronaldinho, which was not surprising given the storyline of the commercial. They might think it had too many Brazilians. I posted this earlier on Rodrygo's thread. And he was the one featured on Brazil's Nike 2022 World Cup commercial. The kid in the beginning was Endrick. I actually thought why him rather than VJ. I like Rodrgyo, but at his moment, VJ is a bigger star than Rodrgyo. And Neymar is no longer with Nike. Part of me did tell me that VJ might not be happy. if i were him, I would want to be the guy on the commercial.

Zidane played the worthless Hazard and sometimes Asensio ahead of Vinicius. Carlo elevated him and unleashed his potential. Here's a nice tidbit from Vini Jr ahead of his game against Croatia about Don Carlo. He's become undroppable for Brasil this world cup. I hope Carlo has a long tenure here. I hope he gave up on cigarettes. He's eating nicotine gums like candy. Bringing Carlo back was one of the masterstrokes of Florentino Perez's 2nd tenure, the most important being promoting Zidane from 2nd team coach.
I mean it’s everything. They pay you low, they showcase your teammate who is your sub at both club and NT level, and they refuse you new shoes. At some point you say Fucx all this and walk away

Thats exactly what I'm afraid of, rivalries and resentment are common among brothers when perceived status/merit is being contested by a third party. Especially when theyre young. It just transfers unconsciuously to their relationship. Hopefully these two are more mature than that.
Does there have to be drama around everything? Vini will have his reasons and endorsements and Rodrygo will have his. Doubt either one of them cares less about the other.
