I don't blame Brazil for celebrating too much, it's the Brazilian Arrogance when it comes to football, it's what makes Brazil, Brazil I guess.

I entered this World Cup without much feelings towards Brazil. Neither positive nor negative.

It's the way they behave on the pitch that makes me disliking them.

I'm also not the biggest admirer of their playing style. I think the best UEFA teams play a more modern and entertaining brand of football. But that's just me.

lol, its ok. It's like me with England and the US, their press and media annoy the hell out of me, to the point where I low key enjoy seeing them lose.

I personally love the way Brazil play and actually just the general south american way of playing. UEFA teams to me are way too static and limited for my taste.

I also cannot relate to the people who complain about the way they act on the pitch because im personally just blind to it, I've always tended to focus on the football and I ignore everything else because to me it just isn't important. It's like when I play a game with the annoying douchebag, I hate his guts but he plays well and knows what he's doing so while we play I forget everything else because in that moment its all that matters.

    Nah.

The Netherlands in the semi-finals will be in my book the first real test for Brazil.

Oh really? Who would have guessed?

Your anti-Conmebol bias has been sussed out ages ago already.

Many respected pundits around the football world place Brazil amongst the top favorites but it's the Albanian expert that already knows that Brazil won't win the Cup.

The same genius who conveniently changes his favorite every week. You're the laughing stock of these forums.

I was never biased against CONMEBOL. I'm just observing international football closely and I was the very first member to point out CONMEBOL's general decline in this cycle. That's all I did. If the winner comes from UEFA again then I was spot on about CONMEBOL as a whole trending downwards.
It speaks already volume that none of Peru, Ecuador and Uruguay were able to reach the Round of 16.

I gave Brazil enough respect in my pre-tournament posts and predictions.

Guess what? I had Brazil claiming bronze. What else do you want? Winning it all is only for UEFA.

Meh, if he lasted 4 years with Chile, I don't think he is going to quit in a month here

Nothing has changed much since I've been following football (WC1986 and beyond). Only Brazil and Argentina can really make a deep run from Conmebol, with the exception of Uruguay from time to time (WC2010). It just happens that UEFA have 3x the number of good teams capable of winning it, from a much larger confederation. So it's a mathematical thing the chances of a UEFA team winning at the end.

But hey, if you're proven wrong, don't disappear, ok?

you're not wrong, CONMEBOL has definitely been on a decline for a bit. But imo its mostly because of a combination of aging squads/transitionary period and poor management. Peru was never particularly good, they just had a great manager. Colombia, Chile are both going through a generational change right now. I don't know if Chile will be back because it seems like they are struggling to build new players but Colombia will be back for sure. Paraguay was in a deep slumber for a long time but are slowly finding their feet again too. For the time being I do definitely think UEFA are better but of course everything can change with time who knows. It's no big deal

as far as deep run, yup just those guys. Other teams still lack the balls to face off and take down the big teams in final stages sadly

By what score will the Netherlands win its quarterfinal match? Surely you have a crystal ball now, don't you...

Would you rate Serbia and Switzerland as superior to Korea in their defense? If yes, did you watch Brazil against them? If yes, did Brazil show it can break strong defensive lines in your view? Why or why not?

Brazil had 4 goals in the 1st half - the first time Brazil has done this in decades and only for the second time in the history of the World Cup. I'd say that's plenty ruthless. Or did you think that 4-goal margin was thin enough for Korea to overcome in second half?

Yeah I would say Serbia and Switzerland are better, nope didn't watch those matches, only from what I observed of the Korean defence it gave Brazil an easy ride to score easily, it's a not a true reflection of the lethality of attacking prowess. Brazil scored as many goals in that first half as they did the whole group stage. That tells you something about the Korean defence

    Correct.
Against UEFA 1st tier if I wasn't clear enough. Switzerland and Serbia are 2nd tier.

Netherlands will score at least twice in 90 minutes.

    Netherlands 2-1 Argentina

I wouldn't be surprised if the scoreline is even greater in favour of the Netherlands.

Netherlands are a well functioning team under very good management.

Argentina are still too Messi dependant.
All Argentina fans told me otherwise.

However judging by Argentina's performances so far it has become evident that they don't have any solutions other than Messi going forward.
