I don't mind if he doesn't start by the right reasons, not by shit stories made up by the Media. Quite honestly I believe Santos will start him, but if he doesn't perform well in the first 45 minutes he has to be replaced at Half Time. Tomorrow Santos leadership will be tested. And let's face it, our game against Switzerland is totally unpredictable, I am more worried regarding our midfield options than the Ronaldo drama.
Don't forget that at their clubs they have world class managers who play them in different positions and roles.
Some people would kill me here but If Bento came back to replace Santos he would have the authority to renew the NT. He certainly wouldn't mind about replacing Ronaldo or Pepe after the WC, for different reasons.
I just can't believe how much the guy dropped off in the span of a few months. He was the best player in the Champions League group stage last year - like, by far. It was arguably his best performance in the group stage ever. That's no ********ing joke. And based on his form this season, he wouldn't make the bench of most PL clubs. Maybe it's a mixture of his age and what happened with him personally... I dunno. It can't be easy for him, regardless of the millions and millions he has. Imagine having everyone praising you since before you were 12 years old because of how good you are and then all of a sudden losing all that... after nearly 3 decades. That's not easy. And he's brought us all enough joy in the past few decades to merit some sympathy. I'm about to text my cousin to find out what's going on in that locker room.
I can't see it. Portugal at Euro 2012 was the closest a team came to beating the famous Spain team of 08-12 so he merits that but Bento was pretty shit besides that. I also can't really stand this Korea team going all out against Portugal and then pissing their pants like a bunch of bitches today just because of who the opposing side is. He's also responsible for Sporting's most humiliating defeat on the European stage. No thanks. Bring Mourinho next. He can't retire without coaching Portugal and only logical he does it as soon as possible.
He was shit beside that because he didn't had the amount of quality Santos has available for him to choose in 2022. Actually the 2012 Portugal was the one who played best Football probably after Euro 2004, even in 2006 we didn't played like that.
No to Bento. Hell noooooo! Santos has the most deepest team in a while... Is he gonna pull a magic trick or s**t the bed.
Do you honestly believe Bento is worse than Santos? It's not going to happen anyway. But if Santos loses tomorrow he has to go.
Yes, I do not believe Bento could ever win the Euro. He looks like he should have this hat on his head every time I see him.
Dude no one here are denying his accomplishments . By far best Portuguese player of all time and gave us thousands of amazing pays that made us proud he was one of us, this issue is that he no longer is anywhere near that, does not want to admit that to himself, acting like an ass . It is what it is . Now us being honest what he is at this moment takes nothing away from what he had done. How he is seen from this point in is up to him .
I'm not claiming anyone here is denying his accomplishments. I think we're all disgusted with his antics as of late, I know I am, but it's also important to remember it isn't easy being him. We all laugh at such a statement because he's obscenely wealthy but he is also the most followed person on the entire planet. ******** that. Sounds absolutely miserable.
I feel the same. To me he should be a fringe squad player, yet is somehow a preferred starter. I mean the fact that he starts and Vitinha rides the bench, Sanches stays at home and Vieira never got a call-up is crazy to me. Joao Mario is another player who is much farther ahead in the pecking order than they should be.
The problem is that he has no one around him that will tell him that he is acting like an ass. He only has “yes men” around him . Maybe by design . I honestly don’t know .
Honestly I would go with Vitinha after that Friday performance, I doubt Otávio is 100% fit and hopefully as much as I don't like Neves I hope he isn't thinking to play William as a 6 tomorrow.
Look... All we have to do is WIN. KO games are more about tactics. (We got outta the group with 2 wins. Somewhat healthy.) a win... And the negativity goes away.
So....Who is going to stop that Embolo guy? He is in really good form at club level. He is going to be running rampant. Can William/Neves keep up with him?
