One minor issue: Why do big playerss still seem to get bullshit penalties? Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, now the Neymar bullshit penalty? I thought VAR was supposed to get rid of those, but it has been utterly useless at calling them. I don't remember a single BS penalty for a lesser player, but the big ones keep getting presents.

Brasil didn't really need that penalty from a dive.

EDIT: Honestly those things make me dislike football and "big stars" mentality.

Good, confident win by Brasil soured slightly by Richardlison's dive to win Neymar a penalty for 2:0.

Isn't that what VAR is for?

Isn't the theory that bigger teams attack more and thus generate more chances to be awarded penalties?

Possibly true in this game, but in a lot of the other games that wasn't the truth.

On any given day most of the very good teams left have a chance to beat Brazil.

BUT, odds wise I would say:

France cause they have a mental edge in recent World Cups and can actually make their back line suffer with their firepower. Mbappe will be a handful.

Argentina because they know they can do it and it is a South American Classico.

Spain I debated to put ahead but their Striker situation just does not seem good enough and they will just try to out -possess them and keep them from attacking that way.

Holland cause they also have had a good recent history against them and will not be afraid. That said, they give up way too much possession and Brazil won't be as wasteful or unimaginative as USA.

Croatia if they bunker, hope Brazil miss easy chances and pray for penalties.

Also France has beaten Brazil in WC twice in the last 24 years (1998 and 2006)

Yes, that was what I meant by mental edge in recent World Cups against Brazil.
They are not afraid of them. Deschamps would have them ready.

I think France and Argentina would be a bit a of a toss up. I fear France the most though.
Holland not sure of what to make of them honestly.
Spain I would really like our chances to be honest.
    Croatia I expect to beat.

So how exactly does this work? Brazil won the 1st half, but South Korea won the 2nd half... does that mean they're now going to play a 3rd half to see who wins the best out of 3?

I thought him ending a player's career on purpose was disrespectful. Having said that, I think the players wasted a little too much time in the celebrations today.

I don't know, I'm not entirely convinced by Brazil, Koreas defence was shocking today in the first half and did far better in the second half. Neymar looked absent (although he is forgiven due to his injury, the issue will be whether or not this will persist). A better team defensively will be far more testing for Brazil than Korea. I also feel Brazil should have been ruthless with their chances.

yeah your right, how ridiculous that they only scored 4, Serbia was nothing too. I'm sure Croatia will offer more defensively than Serbia

    I'm very honest here.

    I dislike this Brazilian team.

They are very good but they are not invincible.

I wonder how much time did they spent in training to rehearse potential goal celebrations?

To celebrate basically every single goal in the way they do is disrespectful towards the opponent.

Don't forget. Karma is a bitch.

Brazil won't win the World Cup.

I honestly struggle to support a team that dives as much as they do.

At this point I'm thinking of supporting the English...
