Everyone fails penaltys, the other day Messi had a penalty saved, Ronaldo has another technique and he failed one against Iran on Russia.

i believe that with brunos technique you shouldn't be guessing. you should wait for him to strike the ball there isnt enough power in his pks its hard to be powerful and accurate when you jump up in the air to strike the ball.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the fact we won convincingly and then lost narrowly against the Swiss. I feel like this will Work in our favour.

Of course we get the hardest round of 16 game after also getting one of the hardest groups. Meanwhile others get byes to the next round facing trash like USA, australia, Poland.....

Come to think of it, we have the hardest route to the final too along with Spain

Anyone else realize we have the hardest round of 16 opponent out of anyone ? Literally confirmed.. I don’t get it, we won the group, we always get the hardest opponents and unluckiest path every tournament I swear… I feel as if Argentina or Spain always get some shit team so they automatically advance to quarter finals basically every time..

Exactly this. Every tournament without fail. Most ridiculous path for Portugal. Fifa tries to ******** us every chance. Just like the playoffs when we got thrown into a group with Italy LOL like what… Couldn’t be blatantly obvious corruption

    Wc 2006 Netherlands
    Wc 2010 Spain
    Wc 2018 Uruguay
    Euro 2020 Belgium
    Wc 2022 Switzerland

Am I missing any? Always ridiculous hard path for us from the beginning. Never fails

I hope he saw the only 2 good things that happened against South Korea and we see Dalot and Vitinha on the starting line up instead Guerreiro and William.

If we lose Santos has to go, fed up of excuses for him.

Regarding Switzerland in our last 5 games that were 3 wins and 2 defeats, only in the first defeat in Switzerland (2016) they were better than us, but none of those games was played on a big tournament.

    Hard to predict.

Who was it in this forum who said Ronaldo is just Giroud? Giroud is a better finisher.

Also, Mbappe is clearly the best player in this tournament by a long shot. Not even close. Nobody is beating France.

it is what it is, we had the worlds easiest road to the final in 2016. and realistically if you wanna win your going to have to play the best teams in the world anyways. if everything went the way it was "suppose" to go the bracket would still be "difficult", we would still play the swiss, and if we got pass them we would still have to play germany/spain/belgium/croatia. ive said this couple of times in previous posts but Portugal has to change their mentality the truth is with the amount of talent we have on our squad NOBODY on the planet should want or look forward to playing US!..
the truth is we have floped, when we played uruagay we should have crushed them, when we played belgium we dominated and aside from their goal and couple of late chances we dominated them as well, i say bring them all on. beat the swiss.... go at spain and get revenge on our nations league pussy hole performance, slap england or france and let the world know who we are.. I'm tired of pretending like we aren't a top 4 team on the planet... I'm tired of turning on ESPN or listening to english pundits act like our nation has the football quality of a country like sweden (no disrespect)... I WANT ALL THE SMOKE

I would switch places with Bruno and Bernardo. Bruno just plays so much better in the middle. Bernardo can at least play the outside more effectively. Palhinha for Neves.

It was me. I am the one that called Ronaldo an over glorified Olivier Giroud.

I guess I was being too generous.

    Lol

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but 5 of our players are on yellows and risk missing a potential quarter-final appearance.

Bruno Fernandes, Joao Felix, Danilo, Ruben Neves and Ruben Dias.

Danilo isn't fit, and the fact Ruben Neves played vs. South Korea while having that risk of a suspension makes me think Santos might actually bench him for this next game.

The rumour from Portugal is that Otávio will play.

Hope he is fit, actually Switzerland midfield is their strongest part, and unlike the Nations League they have Embolo on a good shape instead Seferovic.

hope Otavio plays. Portugal always seems to play better when he's out there. He's key imo to supporting the dm

Bro I would be more scared if seferovic was playing. He's the type of shitty player that rocks Portugal

I’m yet to see what Otavio adds to the team other than his high work rate.

He seems like a hot head and could cost us with a red card.

Yea I don't see it either. Dude is a JAG out there doing fuck all, rolling on the floor all game looking for fouls like this is Liga Colinho. Adds nothing to this team. A depth piece at best

If we can't beat Switzerland we have no business in the tournament. A win like that would also be huge in terms of confidence.

Ronaldo is at odds with Santos after his antics after the South Korea match. He may not captain the team.

Switzerland won't be easy to beat. I live in Switzerland btw. Embolo looks in form and is physically very strong, a Mbappé light version.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch or check the score during the match :-/ A blessing maybe as my heart could not take it. Even if we lead by 2 goals, it is never over with us lol
    Hope Portugal wins!!!!
